I got my OEM unlock option today on my N950-F/DS. Turned it on. Went into download mode and installed TWRP. Rebooted straight into TWRP and did a wipe and tried to install Renovate Ice. Used the Magisk option. Went through everything and then asked it to reboot. Now I'm getting this message upon reboot after my Samsung logo:

'Verification failed. Unable to restart your device. The integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory settings. This will erase all your data'

I can reboot into recovery. I tried wiping and reinstalling Renovate Ice. No luck, same message. Do I need to flash back to the stock ROM and wait another 7 days?

Renovate ice hide the oem unlock option, so if you're able to reboot to twrp please try other roms like dr.ketan rom or light rom. Or it could be dm variety?

I could be wrong , but the error message seems to suggest that you didn't flash DM Verify properly or that you flashed something corrupt. Try searching XDA for this error as it likely applies to other phones also. You could try to re-download the TWRP and ROM images and then flash with krabman's method. Install a ROM like Dr Ketan's or Nemesis if you want OEM toggle visible. Once ROM is installed and booted, be careful not to reboot. First confirm OEM is there

Edit: From ongoing discussions on the Telegram group, we think that there is a good chance that ROMS which hide OEM toggle (like Renovate) might actually be our solution, as strange as this may seem. Yes the OEM toggle will be purposely hidden, so if yours "goes off" you wont be able to see it or switch it back on - BUT it seems like no users have actually experienced problems resulting! It seems like if you flash Renovate, you'll be OK to reboot, so this OEM hiding might actually be the solution for us. Hopefully Dr Ketan can make such a variant of his ROM for us to test also.

I have read some users flashed rom which have hidden (removed) oem toggle also gets stuck if reboot so no meaning unless there are definitely reports.
I haven't removed as I believe it could be just cosmetic hide so better to keep so user at least can conform status. This is sure that when this auto appears, there is no issue flashing anything but if one make force appear like with safe mode, still experiencing same issue like it's disabled.
Anyway though in next version may try to give ar9ma option if required.

is it possible just to flash TWRP so we can backup the entire system? will it give an error still even if we dont try to root the phone? i have setup all my apps and contacts on my phone. i dont want to have to reflash if something goes wrong.

If you flash TWRP then make a Nandroid without doing anything else, you'll probably be able to boot into system OK, but if you attempt to boot into recovery again (Or maybe even reboot full stop ?? Don't know for certain, didn't get that far first time) you'll bootloop & have to flash stock with Odin. I did exactly that & this happened to me the first time around.

You'll need to do the 'Install/initialise TWRP, flash custom rom & root' in one hit thing if you want no dramas.

I went into download mode again and flashed TWRP again. Booted into recovery right away. Wiped and then flashed Dr Ketans ROM. I got the same error message about failed verification. The interesting part is the reboot menu shows Dr Ketan ROM, so some part of the ROM appears to be working but I cannot get past the failed verification message. So I rebooted into recovery and tried to flash the 'no verity opt encrypt 5.1'. I rebooted and it still has a failed verification message.

thanks for the info bro.. i'd probably wait for a sure solution to this.. im still getting used to using a non rooted phone, but i cant try flash everytime coz i have fully configured my phone as my daily driver. it would be too costly for me, time wise, to keep on resetting..

Yes, several have reported issues with renovate crapping out after a day or two on a reboot or in flashing. There are a couple who have reported installing it and are waiting for 7 days before they reboot/flash but they are not out of the refractory period to report a result on that yet.

To me it looks more and more like those that start out with a hidden OEM unlock on the 7 day nominal timer have an OEM unlock switch that when not visible is setting status to off or is doing so intermittently. We already know that several guys have installed renovate and flamed with it hid. We know many have done nothing more than enabled it and had it come and go in visibility. Sounds crazy but there is nothing to contradict the concept and it serves to explain a lot of odd behavior across the board. I'm now on more than a week and have gone through three rom installs with my switch visible at all times while doing all the stuff I normally do except for installing a CSC. Last night for example I installed a magisk module that enables the GA on the bixby button. As to the CSC, it appears that this may be one of the things that triggers the binaries error and I'm not all that keen on giving up what I have while the native CSC doesn't give me anything I use. I install them just to make it all tidy.

Were it me and I just wanted the damn phone to work I would go with ketan and if he adds an aroma installer and the option to hide OEM unlock I would not enable it. I would keep that OEM visible. I would not install a CSC. I would definately format and follow all the other instructions to the letter in the TWRP installation. I would then stay in recovery and flash the rom exactly as I have already successfully done three times. I would not have my sims in the phone for any part and not put them back until completely done with the install and setup.

This just fixed my issue actually... :)

I rebooted back into TWRP, went to wipe and formatted. The guide I was following from another user didn't mention the format part. I saw it in other guides, but I was sticking to the other user's guide because he said he was successful. With this phone, if you miss one minor detail in you steps, you won't be successful.

So after formatting, I installed the 'no verity opt encrypt 5.1'. Then I installed Dr Ketans ROM and rebooted.

So the key to this failed verification error is the formatting.

You can use like a normal phone. It doesn't matter if you're connect to network or not. No matter what you do, OEM unlock will show up 7 days after setting up the phone

You have to format to decrypt on the first flash with any phone, glad to hear you're up and running.

I'm throwing in the towel. I've been through two jail periods and last night I was free again -- I then flashed TWRP and DrKetans ROM. Seemed like everything was going fine except no OEM Unlock toggle but I was set to wait the 7 days for the OEM Unlock option to show up. Then after sitting with the screen off for a short period of time, the phone starts repeating a vibration, followed by display of the lock screen, and then a black screen. I tried everything I could to get out of that loop short of rebooting, and nothing worked. So, I had to reboot and then reflash stock after encountering the soft brick. I'm so frustrated. Ended up ordering the dual sim UK version from Clove which will hopefully solve the problem.

I'm selling my current phone, feel free to PM me if you want to continue to try to solve this issue but I'm done.
