Repeat post because if you read it has no sense.

First of all heĺlo to everyone.
I'm trying to unlock my SPH-L720. Os installed is Lollipop 5.0. Modem OD2.
all it worked;

- flash tar
- flash recovery
- set rooted right
Afterb first fully reboot phone remain into sprint screen with on the top blue lightning light.
First time wait for around 1 hour nothing happen, remade all step same situation.
I used Odin ver. 3.07 and de-flag only auto reboot. F. Reset Time remain flag.
Do you have any idea how to go ahead?
Thks:good:

Yes it was a metro pcs sim. I spent a couple hours tinkering with different steps from older threads and still could not figure it out.
To put it onto metro pcs you'll need to have them do an esn change to the one with the phone...however, if the phone's imei still begins with 99000....etc it will throw back an error...saying that the device is not eligible...I've seen this myself. If it's a new activation you'll have to set it as android byop.

If you update to Lollipop, yes it will relock you.

But no, you do not need to root to re-unlock it. Nor downgrade, nor redo the whole procedure. SImply flash NG2 modem
This is a little confusing to me.
So your saying we can update, but not update the modem? In my experience messing with the radio causes all kinds of problems.
So have you done this?
Also, Has anyone flashed a rom and had this unlock stick? can you flash a AT&T rom?
OP says he flashed CM nightlies @chris41g, was it for the sprint varient? anyone else have experience with this?
THanks again. the OP was clear and easy to follow. worked perfectly.

Like I already said, if you update to Lollipop (whether via OTA or tar), reflashing an earlier modem will bring the unlock back. Needs to be done correctly of course. But very easy process

Calls, data (H+), Mms And sms are all working correctly. .... The only thing I can't figure out is the voice mail notifications.
Found a thread on changing mmndo and mdio from sprint to your carrier number, but it didn't work.
Anyone else figure a solution out?

Quick question. Anyone here tried this with the T-Mobile branch of straight talk. I tried a T-Mobile sim and a att sim and all is fine. But when I try a straight talk sim it doesn't show any apn options and says there is no sim and also when trying to add the apn manually it doesn't want to save or says its not available for that user. I have tried several different roms and they all give me the same problem. Only with that sim. The odd thing is when I put in a T-Mobile sim most roms give me an option for straight talk apn but.. Well you get the idea.

Am I missing something? Also just noticed that it displays the original Sprint number rather than the number on my sim. If there is a way to clear that would that
solve my issue?

Not sure if this question belongs here but I felt this was the most relevant.

Yep, works on stock. And wifi works fine.

Hmm doesn't make any sense, unless the SIM itself is bad - especially if the phone is saying No SIM. Try it in a different phone to make sure the SIM itself isn't bad. It also may not work if the SIM isn't active.

Most Sprint phones won't correctly display the phone number - it's just how it is. Doesn't affect anything

This is an unlock method, not ROM flash method.

So therefore....

1. Perform unlock method as per OP
2. Verify it works
3. Flash ROM
4. Profit
