Play PL (1270-7161) is still on 10.5.1.A.0.283 (see Sony Update Server). You probably have a different customization , e.g. Customized CE1 (1270-7298). Check the customization number in your service menu.

In XperiFirm this version is for Central Europe.

Okay, so as I suspected, you have the 'Customized CE1' unbranded firmware (which I mentioned in the list above), not the 'Play PL' branded firmware.

These lists contain all firmware customizations for the Sony Xperia Z and their latest versions (build number and customization version).
'PC version' is the latest version available through Sony PC Companion / Sony Update Service / Sony Bridge for Mac.
'OTA version' is the latest version available through the Update Center app on your phone (Over-The-Air).

Your customization number can be found in your service menu (dial *#*#7378423#*#* > 'Service info' > 'Software info' > 'Customization Version').
Look up customization numbers easily by pressing Ctrl-F (Windows/Linux) or Command-F (Mac).

Copy the right URL below and add your customization number at the end (after 'cdfId='). Then add it to your browser bookmarks.
The URL will direct you to an XML file with the latest firmware version between <swVersion> tags.

Open phone dialer and dial *#*#7378423#*#* then go to Service info > Software info > Customization Version
Then you can search your customization version on the list in the first post of this topic.

My phone is halfbricked. It boots up, but is unusable. Not rooted.

It was rejected from warranty service, they said that it(my phone) is not for Europe. How ever, i bought it in Europe, in a internet shop. So i want to know for what region is my phone ment.

I got the SI numbers, but they aren`t in the list on first page.

Are you sure that this SI number is right? It doesn't appear in this list, although that list is not 100% complete (some customizations were added later).

From which shop did you purchase it? According to EU law, warranty is the responsibility of the seller, not the manufacturer, so you should get in touch with the shop to claim your warranty. If they sell devices from outside Europe, it's their responsibility to get them repaired if they break during the warranty period.

new version of flashtools now has xperiafirm integrated into it now http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/05/28/flashtool-now-integrates-xperifirm/ It also means users now don’t have to manually delete the fwinfo.xml file that was causing errors when creating FTF firmware files. Customizations?

What's the difference between the customizations for different countries? Is there some obvious examples?

I have a french customization firmware, it has all languages, but the arabic keyboard is lacking some decoration signs. By installing the Middle East version will I have full arabic keyboard for example?

The si number and customisation numbers are different, si if I recall, is sales item number, which identifies different models, for example, UK generic phones will all have the same cust number for the firmware that's installed, but the white, black and purple models each have a different si number.

I think your best bet is going to be repair your phone with pcc, that will reflash the phone with the correct firmware (according to the cust version which was last installed)

Already tried that, but it always fails downloading some stuff from web.
