Hi samnada,

Unfortunately, imgur is resizing the image but the original was 8mp, so you get the idea.

Thought I'd take #4 at lower light just to see how it handled it, which wasn't too bad. Coming from the HD2, the flash seems capable too, unlike my former phone which over exposed / blue tinted all flash shots (more to do with the fact android had been hacked onto it, rather than the original phone's software).

I don't think anyone would buy a HTC specifically for it's camera capabilities, and it may be something that's improved with firmware updates. I think Sony Ericsson lead the way in terms of photo quality (sensors, processing & lenses), but the instant-shot ability of the Sensation is very good & I can't complain about the image quality too much.

Regards,
Daniel.
Hi Daniel. Are you sure that you choosed "best" on quailty settings? 8 MP photos should be much bigger than that. If you're sure then we have problem with camera with an HTC phone again.

There aren't any other settings I can see within the camera application that would improve the quality.

In terms of filesize, the photos are coming out at 1mb - 2.5mb, depending on image complexity.

Unfortunately, the photos I've posted aren't exactly the most attractive. I'm sure if I had some nicer views to capture, they'd be a lot more impressive.

Dan.

I'm hopeful this might be something that can be fixed via software. For me, the main problems are jpeg artifacts and poor backlight compensation.

Taking a photo of a skyline with cloud cover, for example, makes bright white clouds look like storm clouds.

I know the flash is good. I think the sensor itself is OK - just needs some tweaking.

my total RAM is only 558, showed on 'Task Manager'.

Does anyone know why? thanks.
that's how much free ram you have. It has 768MB, but 210MB is used by Android/Sense/"the stuff that needs it that you don't have access to" 558MB is the actual USABLE RAM for apps and stuff.

Not sure if anyone has asked or mentioned, but does this phone have any type of LED indicator for text messages and missed calls? This is one feature that I will miss about my N1.

Yes, it does. It's a small led indicator beside the earpiece. It works in the following manner (taken from the manual):

The notification LED shows a:
§ Solid green light when HTC Sensation is connected to the power adapter or a
computer and the battery is fully charged.
§ Flashing green light when you have a pending notification.
§ Solid orange light when the battery is being charged.
§ Flashing red light when the battery level reaches very low.

That means text messages and missed calls will manifest themselves with the flashing green light.

Can someone inform us about the consumption of the battery ?.
Can someone inform us about the GPS signal?. We must enable the 3G in order to get the signal quickly or it can lock sattelites easily without it ?.
What about the wifi signal ?. It still drops >88db ?
Speakers...better or worst than the DHD ?. Ok, version 2.3.3 have corrected in some way this issue.

Just been playing with my Sensation and the first thing I noticed was a couple of specs of dust under the screen Grrr!. They only show up outside under direct sunlight though.
So HTC hasn't improved their manufacturing process since they released the Nexus One?:eek:

This is disappointing.

The N1 was plagued by issues with dust under the screen and they never changed their manufacturing process. The only thing they did is support fixes through their customer support if users actually noticed the dust under the screen.

Very odd indeed. You would assume that if they're churning out these premium handsets (which feel soooo good) there manufacturing process would be something similar.

O no, a notification LED. I hate it, I have my phone next to my bed charging. Is there a way to turn of the LED completely?
