would you please help me if i want to root the sm-t220 model for a7 lite. i've tried everything, I've failed. T220XXU1AUJ1
1) unlock bootloader
2) download, unpack the attached zip file to a tar file
3) flash through ODIN as part of AP
4) when you restart the device, if prompted by wipe data - execute ...
5) after full download update MagiskManager app or install v.23.0

2 I was in second place. Can you help.
2)downloaded the attached zip file, unpacked and received the magisk_patched-23000_acKsR.tar file, which we then use in ODIN. Use 7Zip or another archiver, but do not unpack completely, that is, you do not need to unpack the tar archive...

Just wanted to chime in here and say that I successfully rooted the tablet using the same method for the Lite as the regular A7 using THIS GUIDE. Obviously it tripped Knox but I needed it rooted for my use case. One note is that when you download the stock firmware with an application like Samsung Firmware Downloader, make sure you choose the correct Model and Region. These can be found in the settings on the tablet.
What's your model number??
Please be as precise as possible

Ok, I got the device today, but OEM Unlock is missing from Developer Settings. I tried the date and time hack, but it didn't work. I put it 15 days back. Then a month back. Then I put it to the earliest possible date, January of 2004. When I reboot the device, OEM Unlock does not show up. But, after a reboot when I enter Developer settings, for a split second I see a few pixels high field that disappears where OEM Unlock is supposed to be, it's obviously the hiding of the OEM Unlock option.

How do I get past this?

Ok I got OEM Unlock to show up. Follow these instructions EXACTLY.
  1. Factory Reset Device (Sorry but this will happen when you unlock anyway, and has to be done first.)
  2. Skip everything on the first boot setup including WiFi settings (you'll connect to the Internet later).
  3. I did nothing else, didn't even enable dark theme.
  4. Enable developer options and disable automatic system updates from there.
  5. Connect to a WiFi network.
  6. DISCONNECT from internet after a few seconds. You'll see it trying to update things in the pull down menu, disconnect from internet, you don't want it to update anything. It just needs to be connected long enough to update the day and time to the correct day and time, and register your device. If it didn't work, it didn't register your device yet.
  7. For me, it did get to the point where there was a notification that said, "Finish setting up your Tab A7 Lite." DO NOT finish setting anything up, but do make sure internet is disconnected. Ignore notification, but you should see that.
  8. Disable automatic software update. Settings > Software Update > turn off.
  9. Go to General > Date and Time settings and select for the time to be set manually (don't touch time zone). Set the date to be EXACTLY 10 days BEHIND from your current date.
  10. Go to Developer Options, and OEM Unlock should be there!
If it still doesn't work, you may have to go to extreme measures, but I didn't have to. But first just make sure you did the above steps EXACTLY.

Go here for extreme measures if you did EXACTLY like above and still didn't work (my instructions above were a bit different) https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/a7-2017-w-binary-9-rmm-state-unlock.4057831/post-82049513

I created a full guide here to rooting, magisk, xposed, and everything. Fully root. Except TWRP, there is none yet. Enjoy!
