Wifi Calling/Texts info for other countries
This is just some info I found out while traveling around Mexico. I would imagine it would work in other countries as well.
Sprint is still working on this, but they really want it to work so they don't have to unlock your phone Sim Card. They will still unlock your Sim if you meet the criteria. Google that info, it's in these forums. Mine is unlocked BTW.
So this is what it took to get Wifi Calling/texts to work:
1. Turn off Data
2. Turn off Location
3. Turn on Wifi - you'll need a pretty strong signal for this to work. Or else it will keep tripping out.
4. Turn on Wifi Calling - You should probably do this before traveling to another country to get it all set up. It uses data and requires a reboot to work - if I remember right.
4a. You'll need to enter an actual address. This is required for 9-1-1 which is a requirement for Wifi Calling. It's all part of the agreement you'll need to acknowledge when setting it up.
5. While out of country, and with Wifi Calling turned on, Make sure the "Locate me" box is not checked, then enter the address you entered earlier in this format:
1234 Street name,
Anytown, AA 123456
MAKE SURE the comma's are in the right place!! Or it won't accept it.
5a. You may also need to go to Settings>Wifi Calling and select the Wifi You'll be connected to.
The address/location seemed to be the biggest issue. Once I figured that out, all was working great.
I'm doing this all from memory, so if anybody has any questions or comments that they've found, Please put them here. This is a great FREE feature that allows us to travel elsewhere and still use our phones. Obviously where you go requires Wifi for this to work.
