install apps on GAC Trumpchi GS8 2022 factory OEM head unit.

Hi!
I have a GAC (Trumpchi) GS8 2022. It does not support android auto or installing any apks. there is no file explorer on board. Also, I cannot access the factory settings as require a password. all I was able to get this snapshot when the settings page briefly appeared upon cancelling the password entry prompt . Can anyone let me know how I can get into the system settings or atleast enable developer options and USB debugging. It has easyconnect and I'm currently using my mobile to run apps on the mirrored screen. But I'm guessing the head unit in android based, so I can install some apps or atleast HeadUnit Reloaded for "native" android auto via self mode. Appreciate any tips. If you know what password works to get me into factory settings, please let me know.

Sorry to say:
You won´t get anywhere with these units.
This may be Android as OS, but it´s closed software and you won´t be able to install anything. The implementation of Android is exactly stripped to the OEM needs.
I also would not recommend to try to hack these units, as you would get rid of the warranty and to brick the unit is not that difficult by using any other firmware.

Firmware is installed by the seller. so I would ask him why this is not possible.

I was driving a GS7 earlier and the wireless android auto feature was absolutely working fine thru a device called Picasou Android box when i plugged it to the usb slot. This was possible as the GS7 had inbuilt apple carplay in it.

But now i have upgraded my car to the new GS8 2023 and for a shock i couldnt find the apple car play option in it and only carbitlink/screen mirroring is supported. I was so dissapointed. After a lot of research i found out a solution where if we can install the autokit app in the car console, you can use a device like carlinkit and your wireless android auto and apple carplay will work fine like before. I am posting a insta video posted by a carlinkit dealer where he demostrates the wireless carplay and android auto options on GS8 2023 model vehicle. Hope i have been helpful to you.

Yes.You get into the search mode of the navigation and follow the below steps
1.Press and hold the , for 3 seconds and select language.
2.once the language screen comes up, select the search button on the top right hand corner of the screen.
3.This is where u can plug in a USB with a .apk file and install the app.

I followed the step but unable to connect the carlinkit. Also autokit app is not shown in the app drawer. every time I have to install the app to open it.

Towards the end of the video, the user swipes from the left side of the screen to access a slide in dock with apps. Try that and let us know. Maybe @ReNish83 can help. He seems to have it set up.
