My Answer:

You can see that you have no idea about the whole thing.
You have to buy a Unlock Code!I paid $ 22 and it was worth it!

HN10 is support Treble, but you have to wait for a Rom for this Device.
I buy with firmware 108,next update 120 next 123 next 125,next 132 next 132,next 151 and the latest 158!
If you have no idea, you should rather leave it!
Hi M. letschky,

If you do not read my posts, please do not waste your time and mine replying...

So : I have no idea I have to buy an unlock code ?
As you seem not to be able to read a message that is more than 2 lines, here's a quote from my own message :
"To unlock this device, I had to go to an obscure website from probably a hacker/retailer that does it "grey", to pay 25 dollars and to wait for an unlock code...
All other phones I've had so far (Motorola, Sony, OnePlus, Xiaomi)... at worst you had to ask for an unlock code on the manufacturer's website and got it free"

So : I have no idea there have been updates to this phones ROM ?
Same : as you seem not to be able to read a message over 12 words, here's another quote from my message :
"5-6 updates in 3 months ? Probably. i've witnessed 2 updates.
And one of those forbids to change the default launcher... Is that an update or a severe regression ? "

So : I have no idea that the HN10 supports Treble ?
As you obviously did not read my message, here's another quote :
"Did you even tried to install GSI to this device and had it working properly with no severe battery drain ?
Well, as you know from my other posts : I've tried it all... Even to flash Berkeley (Honor View 10) custom Rom's.
And when I was luck, the device booted...
But even then a lot of things weren't working properly : BT, display brightness..."

But you write :
HN10 is support Treble, but you have to wait for a Rom for this Device.
That is hilarious...
Because that sentence alone shows that you have NO IDEA what Treble is...
So just so you know it : Treble is a project that should allow a "custom" ROM to run on ANY device...
So there should be no need to wait for a specific GSI (as you have no idea what it is, GSI is a treble compatible ROM)...
The mere fact that you indeed have to wait for a Treble ROM to run properly on this device shows how Honor/Huawei is considering the Treble project...

May I just remind that, when I posted about MY experiments to install a custom ROM to this device, you were one of those (with SmartPhonesFan) telling me "Oh... No. Do not do that".
So please, don't tell me I have no idea when you're making it so obvious that you don't have the slightest knowledge about this...

But I have good news for you (but of course, you'll never know as you do not read message that are longer than 2 lines) : I finally found someone to buy this device from me...
Had to go on sales to be able to get rid of this...
So I will simply leave this channel and you will be able to debate between the two greatest experts I've ever came across on XDA...

Best regards.

Huawei/Honor, Xiaomi, Oppo, and other Chinese phones are manufacturing too many at an alarming rate. No developers want to commit to one phone anymore. The updates from Honor are fine and keep this phone great. I for one am happy I purchased this phone.?

Chinese phones are ok but from the next time onwards buy only the models which are globally released i.e models that can run Global FW...Chinese Firmwares will never have all the features of the Global roms...I have also decided that I may/will buy another Huawei/Honor device for my next phone upgrade but will always choose a Global model like for example the P series or the Mate series...Even if we buy them from China, & they come with Chinese FW on them, we will still manage to flash a global version of the rom on the phone as they will not be limited to China & will have global versions for the rest of the world...

Samsung is far better in these matters than Huawei....They never restrict developers & end-users on what they would like to do with their phones...

Huawei's excuse of "We stopped providing unlocking service because of security reasons & it may hamper your phone if you use a custom FW" are all bull-****...

We have bought the phones...Now we should be given the right to decide what we want to do with our phones...Huawei/Honor already got our money when we bought the phone...So, what's their problem if we mess everything up during a custom rom install ?? It should be OUR headache, not their's...

Samsung doesn't let North American models of their phones have their bootloaders unlocked. So most of us that use Snapdragon variants of Galaxy devices are stuck with stock firmware.

Hi guys,

Trying to get this device to get a little support here are my experiences that I would like to share so far.
I have the Honor Note 10 8/128. It's unlocked. It has TWRP and it is rooted.

Now I would like to install something else than EMUI, maybe even Pie.

So here is what I was able to find out :
- it is possible to install the OpenKirin Project : Resurrection Remix and OmniRom and boot them ; but the fingerprint scanner doesn't work to wake device in Resurrection Remix (could not test in Omni ROM : I'll do that later tonight) ;
- it is possible to boot from at least one custom ROM made for "berkeley" (Honor View 10). And there, everything works... But of course, really few customization. Also, I was able to find out that, as soon as I install an AOSP based ROM, rebooting into TWRP fails : TWRP remains stuck at "splash" screen...

So I think it's really close to being able to run a s custom AOSP based ROM on the Honor Note 10, but that would require someone with a little more dev skills than I have to look into that :(

Anyone with such skills around here ? It would be really great to be able to have the Honor Note 10 running Resurrection Remix (Oreo) or Havoc (Pie)...

Regards.
i could help you with that stuck splash screen in TWRP, if you still have the phone

you have to use twrp from honor view 10, codename berkely. but also you need to disable force encrypt because that freezes twrp in the first place.
Thanks for reply.
I tried installation of Twrp for berkely.
When I entered recovery mode, it showed "software install failed" and no wipe menu.
Thus, I chould not perform factory reset by the stock recovery to remove encryption.
Any solutions?

there is a special version of twrp that has decryption enabled. if you search google for vache-bkl-twrp-DE.img you should find thread with explanation how to install it and decrypt.

After updating to Emui 9.1.0, I installed Resurrection Remix OS 7.0.1 Beta 1 (openkirin) again.
Almost all (including NFC) are working fine.

Tried flashing the Android 10 GSI that was recently in the XDA feed since there was an Honor View 10 running the rom...

I reverted my phone back to EMUI 8.2 using e-recovery, and flashed the image through fastboot. The android logo popped up, but after a few minutes, the phone restarted itself back to the e-recovery screen recommending a factory/reset or recovery.

Hope others can try, especially those who are on EMUI 9 or those who know how to tinker with TWRP.

EDIT:
Updated to EMUI 9... Now, the android logo doesn't boot at all and the phone is restarting on itself before it goes back to eRecovery.
