Install custom ROM on Honor Note 10...

Tried flashing the Android 10 GSI that was recently in the XDA feed since there was an Honor View 10 running the rom...

I reverted my phone back to EMUI 8.2 using e-recovery, and flashed the image through fastboot. The android logo popped up, but after a few minutes, the phone restarted itself back to the e-recovery screen recommending a factory/reset or recovery.

Hope others can try, especially those who are on EMUI 9 or those who know how to tinker with TWRP.

EDIT:
Updated to EMUI 9... Now, the android logo doesn't boot at all and the phone is restarting on itself before it goes back to eRecovery.

According to the Telegram channel, you should be on EMUI 9 or 9.1 before flashing the AOSP 10 rom.
"Just flash the rom and then do a factory reset and it will boot" from other user

Hello! Thank you very much for the response! I have actually solved the problem just 2 days ago as I didn't expect that from 8.1 (A only) it would become (A A/B) in 9.1. So I was just flashing the incorrect gsi. :silly:

However, there are some issues with the ROM
1. Text messages aren't shown in the notification
2. Camera doesn't work
3. Flashlight doesn't work

Those are just a few problems I have noticed as my HN10 is currently just a secondary phone... But this Android 10 GSI is quite amazing!

Is it a GSI version or OpenKirin version? OpenKirin team just published the AOSP 10 Nov 5th

Oh really? Darn it... I didn't know they released a preview build recently.... I guess time for me to flash while I don't have anything important yet on this phone.

Would you know if the Open Kirin GSI has the bugs that I have mentioned?

Flashed the OpenKirin ASOP 10 preview, seems all working until now, except the network speed is not as fast as I expected, which may not be true.

I think the network issue is due to my proxy

guys who installed custom roms, how is your stereo? for me it only worked correctly if i turned my phone to the left. channels didn't switch when rotating phone to the right. also, when playing games like pubg mobile, you couldn't orient by sound. there was no virtual surround or separation.
although, i was on custom rom for honor view 10 berkely

I'm on this openkirin version, mostly fine, sometimes the wechat froze, restart wechat and it worked again.
