Install increased battery on xiaomi mi 9

I on my xiaomi mi9 I installed the battery increased by 4000mha, I changed the kernel values with a file manager by making the phone read the same battery capacity and I do six hours of display on! To do this you must have root permissions with any custom rom (does not work with miui!) and buy 4000mha battery ...
the path to take with franco kernel manager is:
/sys/class/power_supply/bms/charge_full"
/sys/class/power_supply/battery/charge_ful
Through a file manager, that is the path to follow to edit the file. After doing the procedure you can go back to Miui with the kernel value unchanged at 4000mha ... fantastic isn't it?

Hello, unfortunately I have a problem. The changes I make through FKM are not saved. They go back to their previous values. The change by the regular manager also failed. Anyone able to help me? Thanks!

All increased batteries are fake. I have bought a 7000mAh one one taobao (just to try) and it is still showing 3300. Writing a bad comment to the seller and got harassed on the phone like crazy until I agreed to erase my comment. On the positive side the battery is running ok as a 3300mAh and the seller just gave my money back!

But you must change size of battery in kernel. This isn't automatic... lol.

Do you really think you can have a bigger battery capacity without having a bigger battery in size? I really doubt. The Mi9 pro has a 4000mAh battery and is 1mm thicker than normal Mi9. There are lots of different battery size on Taobao, from the original 3300mAh to 7000. Honestly do your battery really last longer after a full charge?

Of course you can! I myself bought a battery with a declared capacity of 4000mAh. After checking it has 3943mAh. So everything is fine. The battery, being in the phone now, I have to charge a maximum of 3300mAh, because that's what is set in the settings. If you want to be cheated, they will always cheat you ...

Yes, noticeably. Standby deep sleep time, SOT, amount of charge left at the end of the day, power throughout the weekend with less usage, power while using GCam... Everything improved. Checking with AIDA64, my old battery had about 2700 mAh charge left. The new one still has slightly below 4000 mAh after almost 8 months of usage. But I'm not the only one, every single user who swapped to this battery is giving the same feedback (2 friends and multiple other users on telegram groups).

-> you need to manually adjust the "charge_full" value once after the swap (root needed)
edit: to give more info on this, this isn't a fixed value, the system itself manages it and it will change by itself with time depending on the calculated / measured charge to give the estimated mAh capacity left. Don't mistake it for the "charge_full_design" value, which is permantently fixed to 3300 mAh (what's being reported to HW info apps which don't show the above value)

-> you need to charge longer after it reaches 100%, AIDA64 is a good indicator, as it will show you when its charging and when it's really fully charged, it takes at least 30min longer after showing 100% in the system

Sure if you change your old battery with a new one you will have improvement! but ok, maybe I can be wrong
Concerning being fooled it's a yes and no. I knew it would be fake so I didn't expect the battery to perform as a 7000mAh. As the comments were good I just had a try.

Unfortunately, I have a problem with that. After changing the values to what I want, they go back to their original values. What program are you using to edit them? I currently have Android 12 and I am wondering if this is the cause of my problems.

You only have to edit one file:
root/sys/class/power_supply/bms/charge_full

Make sure you are in the BMS folder.

Root is needed. I use Solid Explorer to open the folder and edit the file.
Currently running Pixel Experience 12 and I can still edit and save it fine.

I do literally the same ... Unfortunately, I get the message: Failed to copy the file from (path) to (path). I tried Total Commander, it didn't work either.

It looks like the App isn't opening the file right in the folder, but caching it to another folder, editing, then wants to save it back which fails.

Exactly! However, Total Commander it communicates that there is no place. I do not understand this...

Do you really think the manufacturer didn't use the largest battery possible?
If there's any additional space it's likely there for an important reason. The batteries are designed for reliability and safety. There's no wasted space.
A fully charged Li internal short caused meltdown will destroy the phone... collateral damage can be expected if this happens.
