It should not be long, anyway with an A12 SYTEM You will need to use an A12 Twrp to install an ROM A13.

Since it is a hybrid ROM The Twrp is not necessary to update.

The bootloader must be unlocked.
Install this Twrp then flash the rom.
No Twrp A13 currently.
You will need to root and use Magisk to have a certified play store.
Also see a Xiaomi Eu rom, better than stock, play store certified with the bootloader unlocked.

There is no better in MIUI,OTA, call recorder, Full themes, everything works without root, banking apps included, etc.
And especially now for this device hybrid roms, installable in Fastboot mode or Twrp.
For the first installation, you will lose your data.

Start by unrooting the phone then use the fastboot method with the first install.bat file included in the rom.
The twrp no longer has much importance except for those who don't have access to a pc.

lol, I understand, do not configure security on the lock screen, install Magisk and root with a Fastboot command since no TWRP A13.
