Install W10 Mobile build 10240 on 930,640,640XL (links are back up) (Astoria)

1. Download the ROM for your phone from the link above.
2.Download windows phone image designer from the link above.
3.Put your phone into UEFI mode by turning it off and then booting it while holding the VOLUME UP BUTTON. You should see a lighting bolt on your screen.
4.Plug your phone into your pc through Usb and open windows phone image designer. Select the x86 folder or the x64 folder depending on your version of windows.
5.Click on the Start.bat file and windows phone image designer will launch.
6.Once booted select "Flash a Windows Phone image onto your phone" and click next.
7. Your device should show up under flashable devices. Click on change and select the ROM you downloaded.
8. Hit "Flash" and wait for the program to finish flashing.
9. Once done your phone will reboot and you will have installed build 10240 on your device!

Hello, I have Lumia 640 LTE. When I flashed this post's rom, Windows store and update center can't work anymore. Could you know the solution? And so, the phone is in airplane mode, I can't turn off airplane mode.

U need to follow directions.... The store won't work because windows update is trying to update ur phone...... So U need to follow directions in post #176

yes, I did that yesterday and it worked for me. However I saw that there is no more LTE (4G) service. I did not yet test wconnect for Android apps.

This worked for my 640xl link to wpid but make sure u clean flash w8.1 with wdtr before attempt to use wpid. If it fails just flash stock with wdtr .

Hey guys I found muy old lumia 640XL but is the 3G ver (RM-1066) I want to modify installing Astoria or windows RT but I had problems

Astoria doesn't install I get an error (I used wpi WPID and thor2) Invalid_Platform_ID

And when trying to unlock the Bootloader using windows phone internals with 1096 donor ffu the phone only restarts in download mode or Qusb_Bulk and on this situation I only able to flash using Thor2 method because I get and error using WPID and with WPI in 30\40% I had hash mismatch flashing the original ffu

Is possible to modify this variant or I need in order to test an 640XL LTE

my phone: Nokia.MSM8226.P6199.2.0
image target: Nokia.MSM8926.P6199.
is there an other image for my phone or is it not possible for this device, or do I have to do something?

It should definitely work. I flashed on locked bootloader.
