Installing FR008 on HTC Aria using XTC Clip?

I've have a look around the Aria forums, but haven't found exactly what I was looking for, so I thought I'd post and wait for a potential torrent of abuse instead:D.

I've got an AT&T Aria running HBOOT 1.02.0000 and Android 2.2.2, which I essentially want to unlock and de-brand. My workplace has an XTC Clip, which I've used to clear S58, but I haven't done a downgrade or flash before. I've done a bit of reading on installing FR008, but just wanted to clarify that these are the steps I should follow or if there are any I can skip given that I have an XTC Clip?

1. Create a gold card and place a [stock?] 2.1 ROM on it and rename LIBEIMG.ZIP
2. Flash ROM to HTC Aria
3. Install HBOOT
4. Install unrevoked3 to HTC Aria
5. "Install liberated_aria_FR008_signed.zip from sdcard". Found instructions on this, but wanted to know if it could be done/if there are benefits in doing it at all with the XTC Clip?

Thanks

The simplest way is based on attn1's instructions in another thread which I've quoted below. This method does not require Unrevoked and as such does not require that you downgrade your HBOOT. This also does not require a gold card. You just need S-OFF from XTC Clip first and you can do this.

Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip clockwork2501.zip
fastboot reboot
MD5: 5d01f06af3ce99f27d23cf8a2df47926 clockwork2501.zip

Hi I have an Aria wich has just been rooted with the XTC clip and wich has CM7..my problem is that clockwork doesn't work anymore(I don't have access to the recovery) I'm trying to reflashing it using you method but I get:

writing 'zip'...
<bootloader> zip header checking...
<bootloader> zip info parsing....
FAILED <remote :24 parsing android-info fail>

what does it mean? is there anyother way I can flash CWM without having to do it through to recovery?
Thanks
