Seems about right. The USA, unlike many countries, uses some **** exotic type bands that the international models simply don't require. Therefore, carriers like T-Mobile and whatnot simply won't allow it to run (and in some cases flat out block it, even if enabled).I purchased a Xperia Pro-I in China, it says support 5G but I got no 5G connection in the US. I am using T-mobile
Aren't these missing bands a hardware issue?
Correct. The root and enable part only kicks in when they blacklist your device from their bands when you have access to them, or when they block stuff like VolLTE and whatnot
