I would like to unlock my Samsung Focus 2 that currently has v7.10.8862.144 on it. I've tried both of HeathCliff74's methods and they don't seem to work. Is it possible that the firmware on the phone is too new and has patched whatever the unlock methods were using?

Those are for first-gen devices like the original Focus. This is a second-gen device. It doesn't look like there are any ROMs for those.
