Hello everyone,
I've been lurking around from time to time for a while now but I've decided earlier this year to keep as much distance as I can from Google services on my phone. That's why I switched to Lineage and I'm following my phone thread here.
Have a nice day,
Sekhmet

Hey everyone! I'm fairly new to all of this but I had some success years ago rooting my HTC phone and I am now wondering if it's possible to root my SM-981U snapdragon galaxy note 20 5G. I know I will learn a lot here so thanks so much for having me! Any advice would be greatly appreciated but I will be scouring the forums first! Have a great day!

Howdy all
I'm an Android dev, finally joining after years of lurking.
Most recently parted with my v30, for the free-to-me Revvl 5G (TCL 10 5G Tmo variant).

Hello everyone. My name is Victor and I'm a software engineering student. I'm into Android development and so far I was doing "classic" stuff like displaying lists, bottom navigation and so on. But, right now I'm working on an app that requires root. For that I was already browsing this site a couple weeks ago, trying to understand how to root a device. I mean, before getting into Android development, I didn't even knew what adb is. About rooting stuff I'm still a noob, but I hope I can learn a lot from a great place like this.

    Hi from Poland.
I'm over 60 and love to read XDA for few years now. Unfortunately I can only learn and try to play with upgrading phones.
Started with HTC Desire HD, still using Note 2 with LOS 14.1, and now testing Note 3 N-9005 with LOS 18.1.
My best to all Developera and good day to everyone.

Hi from California. Been reading and using suggestions on XDA for awhile now. Awesome forum. Thanks to all who contribute and develope

Hi there ! Greetings from Reunion Island ! I'm here because i've read a lot this forum during years, and i want to learn things about Android Tv Box and many more, like customizing mobile android based devices. Thanks to all developpers who contribute this website every day.

Came here to patch something in my iMate JasJam... That's all i really remember.

Been here long enough to see the forum theme change more than 4 times. Has been an amazing forum, and my phones have been way awesome thanks to XDA.

    Cheers!

    Hi I am Daffy,
Since a while i use this forum, made lineagos an my galaxy S8, used the Googlefier for my new Huawei P40 pro and debloated it and now i wanted to debloat the Redmi note 8 Pro from my wife and crashed it :(
I like this forum a lot because if you want to know something about your mobile here you find it.

What's up everyone. I originally joined XDA one year ago, my brother introduced me into the XDA community which he joined in 2012. I mostly help friends but now I can help the XDA Community.

Registered to say thanks to the developers who have worked for free to build some awesome tools. They recently gave new life to a 7-year-old Kindle Fire - it can only run LineageOS 11 but it flies! For a basic kiosk, that's enough.

always learning and sharing experiences, this group seems to me to be excellent and very capable of always taking everything to the maximum of a community that wants to learn and understand everything.

    Hi,

New to XDA and rooting. I picked up an unlocked OnePlus 7T Pro 5G (T-Mobile) and was hoping to remove the T-Mobile stuff. It's looking that won't happen, but I'll lurk for a bit and see if anything sticks.

Hello everyone, my name is Frank, I am German, use Lineage OS since last year, because I was looking for an operating system for my smartphone, in which as little or no backdoors as possible.
Since version 17.1 I am very satisfied with the work of the developers.
I use a Galaxy A5 (2017) because I think it offers a lot of performance for little money.

Hello Everyone, I am Ishan. I love to play around with Android tools and ROMs, but unfortunately never had enough experience to actually contribute to this forum.
Been a lover of Android since 2.1 and love to make low end devices perform well using the great optimizations provided in this forum.
    Current Devices :
    Oneplus 6 - PixelExperience 11Plus
RealmeX2 - Bricked and trying to recover :)

    Hello all,

I'm not particularly tech savvy but appreciate the usefulness offered by new technology in telecommunications. Being 70 years old, that part of human interaction has advanced amazingly and at an increasingly dizzying rate. Such is life I guess (or that part of the human experience spectrum). It is reassuring to an old codger, believe me, to have access to forums such as VDA; thank you all.

    Sincerely, Ranger1951.

Hi , i m new , i m french and i've 41 ... i have a realme 3 pro and i know XDA since lot of year when i has got a galaxy S3 :LOL: . Now i m old so sorry for my english and if i need more explanation for roms or other manipulations ... THANKS to you ALL

Hey, been a silent not logged in reader for quite a while, currently trying to make a Oneplus 3T run for my day to day usage, so logged in to ask some questions. Since I'm already registered: Big thanks to everyone who's contributing on Custom Roms and everything around.

More than anything, XDA is a community, and we're all here for different reasons.

Some are here to mod their phone--some joined just to ask a question. Or perhaps, like many, you joined so long ago, you have no idea why you're here (which is totally fine! we've been around for almost a decade). And we're in the process of making XDA more useful to everyone here now that we've moved to much better forum software.

But we'd love to know your XDA story: why are you here, and who are you? What's your day job, what phones do you have, where do you live, what do you like to do for fun? We'd love to get to know you!

Also, be sure to spend some time filling out your profile:

And also adding what phones you have to your inventory:

:cowboy: thanks and welcome. I'm one of the guys in charge and my DMs are always open if you ever want to chat or even complain.

Go ahead and make a new thread in this forum instead of replying to this post.

Well hi all, I'm 'new', but not really that new, since I've been searching through XDA topics on many occasions for quite a few years now. Not sure why it took me so long to actually make an account, but here I am.
So about me - half geek, half creative, F/LOSS enthusiast for over 20 years, full time Linux user since 2006, interested in way to many subjects to ever become a specialist in any of them within at least a dozen of life spans. Hence I don't think I'll ever be able to call myself a developer, but hey, we'll see ;-)

Very interested in Android technology and rooting.. that being said I used to be able to root a Android phone fairly easily but this was 10 years ago but now it has become more difficult for me

hi. im just a nobody playing around with his phone 3:)

Hello everyone, i'm back here after a long, long time

I used to read alot here when i was 10 - 15 but I think i switched to iOs during 2010s and i never really had my phone in the center of my occupations so i bought some macbook & iphone and i started to learn code. (mostly js)

I would be really happy to help users here, if i can, and discuss about my new device. ;) 2020s seems to be redditable as **** tbh, the xda lost kid became some kind of creative dev who's going back to the r00t

Thank you for everything I have read here over the last years!
