hi everyone, i'm here to learn smth new :)

Hey All,
I am a android CAR radio user and I am here in XDA to find a way to updating my device , if there is any possibility that I can upgrade the Android version as mine is stuck at version 9.

MTCE_MX_V3.37_1
PX5

look for a guiding for updates to newer version

11 years ago a friend of mine convinced me to get a Galaxy S2, which I immediately traded in for a Galaxy Note 2(for obvious reasons). I then took a stroll through the wondrous lands of XDA and had my horizons opened like never before. I loved that android with all my heart... Then she died. Since then I haven't really had the funds to afford something worth doing it again... Until now. I fell in love with an LG. Never thought it would happen. Samsung is still my favorite but this Stylo 5 got me. I've had it a while now and I decided it's time to bring out her full potential and see what she's got. So glad to be back. Can't wait for this new adventure.

Thanks for the warm welcome. The name's Rocky.

Nice to meet yall

Hey guys, this is a great forum. I've learnt a lot of knowledge about custom rom here and I successfully install a custom rom intp my new phone recently, I want to learn more here so I decided to register an account today.

Thanks for all your guys great work.

Hi, there XDA!
I haven't seen my note 20 ultra Exynos forum.

Hello: I'm studylinux. I love android and linux. I moved to Lineage O/S on the Oneplus 7 pro and really enjoy it. Happy to be a part of this great community.

Only my registration is new. I have been visiting this site for years but lost/forgot my login creds. Retired and my hobbies are now beekeeping and tinkering with everything electronic. I own two OP6T and am patiently waiting for a TWRP that will work with OOS 11.
Great bunch of folks here..........

I heve read the forum several times but first registration..
I hope to learn a lot and be able to help others.
Thank you

Hey Everyone, I bumped in on XDA when I was looking for custom rooms for my Device about a year ago, and fell in love with this forum since😍
All the developers here are simply amazing and all the works here exceptional. Finally created an XDA account after a long while. Thank you guys🙌

Hi guys. I´m looking for info about the Wanbo T2 Max. Thanks.

Hello Everyone,

I am new in the developer's field and want to explore & learn more with your guys.
From my graduation days, I am a techy guy and interested in coding and finally, I started it.

Thank you in advance.

Hello, I'm visiting the site for a while, I love it. I like the spirit of sharing knowledge, and many times I manage to run out of troubles thanks to many tips found in these pages.

Thanks to everybody, happy to be part of the community!

Hi . There is a great community here! Nice to meet you all! I am 42 years old and i need to replace the battery for an old Sony Z4 tablet to make my son happy again. He can't play brawl stars :) My problem is that i cannot find one

Hi! New on xda forum.
I'm italian, and quite interesting in phones and internet and tecnologies.

Hi guys. I´m around to learn and share, like iphone and tech.

Hi, my name is Adrian and I test ROMs from XDA :)

Hi, I'm T'Challa I came up with XDA when there was newer. I was more of a phone enthusiast back then with Android. In the early 2000s on xda they used to let us trade phones. I totally understand why they stopped doing it. I was on for a while after that but I just got bored with Android phones and stop flashing them and such. I think my old account got deactivated. I'm looking to maybe start back up as a hobby.

Hi! I am Chris and I am from Greece. Interested in discovering how to get the max out of my new android head unit. :)

Hi everyone, here's Mike, I'm amateur programist, I have some trips with my phones, used to I was in love with HTC SPV M3000, nowadays are different phones with different troubles , I wish you all good vibes with your gadgets :)

Hi, hope you all don't mind me jumping aboard ! There's a wealth of knowledge in here!

Call me Nepoleon,

I want to be a foss android developer (learning how to use a text editor at the moment), and maybe will also make new custom roms that can be used by most phones and lock the bootloader for better privacy.

Hello to all of you and welcome to the best site, XDA!
Enjoy your stay

Hello Oswald,

And yes, thanks, after rooting my XZ1c using Magisk and patched boot.img or kernels.zip, even if tried, my bootloader is still seen as unlocked, but that's not a real issue

Right now, I've been able to install TWRP using their application and root, and then, LineageOS, and I'm right now trying to create a software raid 0 (Android is derived from Linux, and it's possible in Linux)

I've just don't really seen a guide on this here, but, I've no needed data for now, I still have to restore, and after chrooting on Android, or seeing its partitions from any Linux, partitionning and creating a software raid could be great if possible, and as far as I know, I've no real risk to try

I'll try this evening and then reinstall LineageOS if needed and restore my backed up data:
Switching from 32Gb of internal storage to a raid 0 of 64Gb with my sd card, and keeping the other part for external data, with why not symbolic links of Android user data to my microSD should be possible on any Linux (With Link2SD for example, and Andoid is based on Linux kernel), I'll only have to redeclare my partitions and fstab-like entries

I don't know if it's possible, but creating a guide on this Linux manipulation will be a good idea if so, I didn't found a real one on XDA for now (but at least, I've just found this one, on how to use parted on Android with adb shell)

Hi, I'm new here. I have used XDA to understand some techy things that are hard to find. Right now I'm trying to understand firmware builds for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G.

Hello, I'm just an interested person who wants to do more with my android devices than I'm currently able. Wants to learn more about ROMs before I start tinkering with my own devices and I hopw this community will be a place where I can learn, use and even contribute to.

Hey All,

I just installed Fire Toolbox v25.2 today. I ran into an issue with the install as I was on OS 7.3.2.2. I clicked through all of the error messages. Fire Toolbox relaunched, I clicked on the Google Services option from the FT home screen and voila it loaded completely. Phew, so glad as I was not looking forward to troubleshooting the issue.

I do have a question. Should I not allow the Fire HD 10 version 11 to OS updates to occur going forward in time?

Here I am, some years after first discovering these fine forums, where I’ve been successfully walked through restoring, refreshing, and repairing the phones of friends and family

Now I own a fine Nexus 5, which I am learing the ins and outs of. Bear with me if I ask stupid questions (though I will try to avoid it). My primary devices are iOS, the last android I used daily was the Nexus 4 (a lovely little guy).

Fello, You may call me Beau.
I'm Jamaican, a digital artist, and an aspiring game designer. My life is admIttably a rather- poor one. I'm mildly autistic, and have an interest in games and technology, despite only having an old Windows 7 laptop.

I finally caved in and joined XDA on-and-off reading for years, because I need help with flashing an off-brand phone "LOGIC X50" because a neighbor managed to forget their password, there seems to be no way to bypass Google FRP on it, and I have little idea where to start. 😅

Hi all! I'm glad to lend a hand, plus take and offer suggestions .

I started my smartphone journey with Android devices, specifically Sony. I've been a massive fan back when they were still Ericsson. For the most part, I've been more than happy and satisfied with the stock ROM's.

It was around the same time when I displayed major interest in software development. I had this drive in me to learn more and wanted to broaden my knowledge i.r.o computers and software. I developed this urge alongside it to always have the latest software; I needed to have to the latest Windows version, I had to use the latest version of VisualStudio.

I was running a Sony Xperia Arc at the time and I was so disappointed to find out that my device would be stuck on Android ICS. How was it possible that I couldn't get an upgrade? I started searching for answers and this is where I discovered XDA. I rooted my device but back then it was a completely different experience to what it is now. I also had to learn the hard way why the device didn't get an official update.

After that I had a few other devices which were also rooted. I had iPhones in between and eventually came back to Android in 2016. Since then I've been using a stock Sony device, stuck on Android 8. I vowed not to root it before the warranty expired and so I didn't. Today, it's lying in my drawer, still stock as ever.

I've since upgraded to the LG Wing 5G. That in itself was an experience and a half. The display is a major problem, and again, I had a flagship device that the manufacturer abandoned shortly after. I was stuck on Android 10 but that was the least of my problems. The device became unusable.

A couple of months later, I bought the Razer Phone 2. Sure it was a downgrade in some ways, but spec wise it was on par with the Wing. Except 5G. But Razer left us on Android 9.

My journey back to XDA would soon follow. I managed to flash to LOS 18. But that brought bugs with it. I lurked around in the forums a little more and found that there's a perfectly working build of Pixel Experience for RP2. And it's Android 12!

The bottom line of my story is that I would not be able to empower myself or even have feedback on my questions and thoughts were it not for XDA. It has been, still is, and always will be the go to place for anything related to mobile devices.

More than anything, XDA is a community, and we're all here for different reasons.

Some are here to mod their phone--some joined just to ask a question. Or perhaps, like many, you joined so long ago, you have no idea why you're here (which is totally fine! we've been around for almost a decade). And we're in the process of making XDA more useful to everyone here now that we've moved to much better forum software.

But we'd love to know your XDA story: why are you here, and who are you? What's your day job, what phones do you have, where do you live, what do you like to do for fun? We'd love to get to know you!

Also, be sure to spend some time filling out your profile:

And also adding what phones you have to your inventory:

:cowboy: thanks and welcome. I'm one of the guys in charge and my DMs are always open if you ever want to chat or even complain.

Go ahead and make a new thread in this forum instead of replying to this post.

Well hi all, I'm 'new', but not really that new, since I've been searching through XDA topics on many occasions for quite a few years now. Not sure why it took me so long to actually make an account, but here I am.
So about me - half geek, half creative, F/LOSS enthusiast for over 20 years, full time Linux user since 2006, interested in way to many subjects to ever become a specialist in any of them within at least a dozen of life spans. Hence I don't think I'll ever be able to call myself a developer, but hey, we'll see ;-)

    HI you guys are awesome
    4
Hi. I'm a french CS engineer and a Debian addict.

I systematically root all my phones and have a specialization in tuning the iptables to not talk to the GAFAMs. Rooted phones so far : Huawei codenames HAM, NEML51, old samsung phones, a couple of Wiko phones.

I've been following XDA-developers for a decade and decide now to onboard :
    * Short-term goal : get some help on a very edge case involving dm-verity and kali nethunter on Nexus5X (bullhead)
    * Long-term goal : wait patiently for the day when a full debian phone / ubuntu touch will be available at a relatively low price, and help all along

Very interested in Android technology and rooting.. that being said I used to be able to root a Android phone fairly easily but this was 10 years ago but now it has become more difficult for me
