Hello in there :) . I'm a linux user . So I'd rather ride on the wild roads of opensource and not on the motorways of GAFAM products . A few years ago , my son installed a cyanogenmod ROM on my old Galaxy Nexus . Today I've been able to do the same with a Redmi6A , thanks you XDA ! Lots of docs and answers here , awesome !

Greetings all a basics old school gamer here got my start with heroes quest quest for glory as a kid and have been hooked
Ever since. The beginner skills and info for android and adb i got was not actually pland but i have found i love learning it step
By step. I was hoping for help to fix my s6 lite i cant just give up need to learn all this. See my tab got hacked when i did not
Know a thing about my tab. I have since got him off my tab and use neatguard to block the changes as best as i can.

This is what i have been able to figure out ther is a shell on the tab the permissions that he uses are grayed out i can't
Become administrator he blocked that same with a lot of others settings they are missing or grayed out. All the apps he used on the
Tab have been turned into system apps and even doing a hard reset boots it up with all the changes. Did a flash and install
From my pc did not help. Lets see knox has been majorly changed and finally i am almost 100% sure he has enrolled my
Tab as well just not sure where and how. If there is someone out there that cud help i need to fix this i can't just give up
I have been trying for a few weeks on my own now but i realized i need help. If we cud do it step by step i would really love
The help.

Hi everyone! I'm a complete noob on this channel/forum and just want to say hi and introduce myself as a good neighbour :) I suppose I'm a wanna-be-geek but never quite met the grade. I'm not new to technology and quite familiar around gadgets, but find I seek advice far more than I am capable of giving it. LOL I just found a quick resolve to a long irritating issue which prompted me to register. Very glad to be here!

Hi everyone,

I'm lurking XDA since ages as it is a very knowledgeable place where things get answered and exlained.

I have owned some Android phones : HTC Desire / Nexus 4 / LG G2 and now a Xiaomi MI8.
Some Android TV sets : Nvidia Shield (OG one) / Xiaomi MiBox 3
Recently turned my car to Android from an old Ford Sync 1 to a FYT 7862 Mekede M500.

It is about 4 years I was looking for help on XDA. I think it is a good place to look for help. In most cases, I was able to struggle through. In particular, I was able to find a suitable, reliable ROM for my Nexus 5X. I have got to a point where most things work; I think I am able now to help others with my experience.
On my desktop computer, I am working with openSUSE Tumbleweed Linux.

Hello, good morning, I don't know much English, I hope to make myself understood with the help of the translator, I am a person who likes to experiment from time to time with the manipulation of devices, I currently have an Lg v60 phone blocked on the network by the Verizon company , which is why I have joined the community, to be able to make that phone more functional, thanks for your support.

I'm an Electrical Engineer, cutting my teeth on Android, specially Oreo (8.1.0). Well versed in Linux. I've bootlooped my share of cheap generic tablets, Arm7a. This has led me to the Forum. Finding my way around. Had my start with the Apple II (revealing my age!!!), where you were required to program in Apple Basic (shudder), if you wanted it to do anything. Anyone remember those days? Anyway, wanting to pimp my tablet, so here I am.

Hello! I consider myself new again in this forum as I've already forgotten my old login creds. The last time I visited this site was when the first Samsung Galaxy Tab came out. (Roughly 10+ years ago?) but I've been with this forum during the Nokia 5800 xpress music era (yes, I am THAT old, lmao). It's good to be back on androidOS after a decade with iOS (my work required it) and to see guides of unlocking bootloaders, rooting, and installing customer ROMs again is an old-new challenge for me. Thanks for having me around!

Welcome back!
Have you tried a password reset? If that didn't work, PM me the account name and/or email address and we might be able to help you getting it back.
I can't even imagine the sense of freedom you must have returning to Android after so long! ^_^

Hello there, I just registered. I have known about XDA for years. Just was not that much of an tech user. Just did simple searches and that's all. But I've made the account now. I am a teen Redmi 9T user from India and if possible, I will be able to install my first custom rom with your help. Nice to meet you all.

    HI you guys are awesome

Well hi all, I'm 'new', but not really that new, since I've been searching through XDA topics on many occasions for quite a few years now. Not sure why it took me so long to actually make an account, but here I am.
So about me - half geek, half creative, F/LOSS enthusiast for over 20 years, full time Linux user since 2006, interested in way to many subjects to ever become a specialist in any of them within at least a dozen of life spans. Hence I don't think I'll ever be able to call myself a developer, but hey, we'll see ;-)

More than anything, XDA is a community, and we're all here for different reasons.

Some are here to mod their phone--some joined just to ask a question. Or perhaps, like many, you joined so long ago, you have no idea why you're here (which is totally fine! we've been around for almost a decade). And we're in the process of making XDA more useful to everyone here now that we've moved to much better forum software.

But we'd love to know your XDA story: why are you here, and who are you? What's your day job, what phones do you have, where do you live, what do you like to do for fun? We'd love to get to know you!

Also, be sure to spend some time filling out your profile:

And also adding what phones you have to your inventory:

:cowboy: thanks and welcome. I'm one of the guys in charge and my DMs are always open if you ever want to chat or even complain.

Go ahead and make a new thread in this forum instead of replying to this post.

Hello everyone, i'm back here after a long, long time

I used to read alot here when i was 10 - 15 but I think i switched to iOs during 2010s and i never really had my phone in the center of my occupations so i bought some macbook & iphone and i started to learn code. (mostly js)

I would be really happy to help users here, if i can, and discuss about my new device. ;) 2020s seems to be redditable as **** tbh, the xda lost kid became some kind of creative dev who's going back to the r00t

Thank you for everything I have read here over the last years!

    Hi alltogether, this is Netra3441.

I am an elder and severly handicaped person rolling in the wheelchair.

For me in my special situation the communication via a smartphone is highly important to survive and to have contact to the outer world. So I own a seven years old Samsung Galaxy S7, wich still runs properly, and I had upgraded it to LOS 19.1 using the very great and honourable work of XDA-member Ivan Meler!

For the very most people like me it is impossible spend money for new hardware.

So, it is a gift and a great pleasure for us, that you guys of XDA and of LOS do this work and help us folks in poverty allover the world to keep our old, but good mobile hardware with actual Android.

    My respect and deep gratitude!

    Thank you all!

But I am not just have a benefit about LOS.

I do help friends in my enviroment on strictly voluntary basis to get their mobile hardware upgraded to LOS, as far as possible technically. I also do help friends on strictly voluntary basis with their PCs and notebooks installing Linux on it. Myself I use Linux since more than 25 years.

    Greetings to you all,
    Netra3441
