Greetings
I'm an aspiring web developer and a tech enthusiast. I have been fascinated with modding and hacking various devices since I first installed CyanogenMod on my bricked Sony Xperia when I was 11. Since then I have become interested with the modding scene and started collecting various different obsolete tech to tinker around with. I have since then collected around 200 phones (about 30 of them being smartphones) and around 30 laptops. I don't really mess around with old tech anymore but I occasionally do buy retro android smartphones to mess around with, latest of them being a Galaxy S5 (on which I installed Lineage OS 19) and a cheapo Prime K919W of which I had fond memories of my dad using back in the day. I'm currently 16 and learning to code.

Hello everyone, my name is Sparsh Gupta, and I'm thrilled to be joining the XDA Developers community! Although I have no prior experience in mobile or software development, I'm eager to learn everything I can from the best.

I've always been fascinated by the inner workings of technology and how software makes everything come to life. I want to start from the root and learn the basics of coding, rooting, and modding. I'm hoping to gain valuable insights and knowledge from the community here and develop my skills as I progress.

As a newcomer to the community, I would greatly appreciate any guidance and advice that you can offer me. I'm eager to learn from your expertise and to contribute to the community in any way that I can.

Thank you for welcoming me to XDA Developers, and I look forward to learning and growing alongside all of you.

LG G8
Hi !

Very happy to enter the xda community. I am fan of blackberry 10 devices, part of the (still active) berryfarm project on github. I subscribed to the xda forums, to look for informations about LG g8 Quad Dac, especially trying to use it as an USB audio device on Linux Kali and Mac (intel + m1). Like many geeks I like coffee !

BTW: I own Sony PHA-2 and PHA-3 Dac

I have been rooting phones including installing custom roms for some time. For that reason, I have often checked the XDA site. My main interest in registering is to find a TWRP edition and a custom ROM for my cell. My new cell phone is a Moto g power (2022). I noticed that some members recommended installing Pixel Experience. I wonder if this will work on my phone. I am actually hoping that Lineage will come up with a system that can be installed on this phone. All the Best to everyone!

A year ago though I recall it clearly, a hacker destroyed my life leaving provoking messages and robbed my accounts. I was ignorant but I knew to avoid Phishing text and emails. Mystery how they got me but what was certain to me was the glaring truth of how pitiful and helpless I was. . As far as tech? Yeah, I was blind and feed off big-tech's bottle of stupid juice since mobile conception. But with paradigm shifted and pissed as a MF, though I was older I was determined to learn.. And so I did, staying up for nights, at times cranked out, eyes swollen from screen glare hurting like a MF.. Going over ARM or RISC based architecture, Bash and ADB. It became an addiction more so than the the dope. And the more I was on that sh*t the more I could see (¬_¬ ) You feel me right?.. Now as a soldier and Iraqi vet you know how this is going to go.. I thought to myself.. 'Nah, F**k Big tech, Ima start a mobile repair business and share my knowledge with any who seek.. Ima be real generous about it too. Why? Because, people deserve that knowledge, nobody should be duped or taken advantage of by big corporations or some dumb hacker void of couscous. Oh, and also cause I'm broke!... (T_T)
Well, nice dream but poor landing.. My SM-A13SU (Sam A13 5G) has been stuck in the blue waiting for a flash of Fw only Samsung's got (The most updated and official) and my PC and SM-A12 have gotten a beat down with questionable downloads from trying to find the cure , they might even have Aids now, I don't know. Samsung seems to hold a counter prospective on people and what they deserve. Even my OEM was removed from the A13 5G which likely contributed to my inability to flash with ODIN. In anyway, I have reconsidered the prospect of a business since Sammy holds the keys to the firmware vault. Recently, I have resorted to annoying Samsung with Emails ranting about Right to Repair Legislation and anything else I can nag them about, sometimes just some random emojis.. Samsung has offered to update it but it defeats the purpose. I would rather keep it a blue screen, maybe hang it on the wall or throw it off a bridge then suck on their bottle again. Thanks for the welcome message btw.

Hello XDA world! I enjoy this forum and the vast range of experience the users have to offer. I'm an amateur cyber security enthusiast, particular interested in anything network related, reverse engineered, as well as low level programming languages and app development. Nice to meet y'all!

Hey guys! Nice to meet you.

The first time I came across Lineage OS was when I used a Moto G3, around the year of 2018, which was my first experience with a custom ROM. I used it for about 4 years and it was a great experience. I also installed Lineage OS on a few other phones in the meantime. It's a great ROM. Currently I'm using a Xiaomi Redmi 9A, which is pretty laggish unfortunately, and I'm looking for ways to improve its performance, maybe by using a custom ROM or whatnot.

That's pretty much my XDA experience 😁

Well hi all, I'm 'new', but not really that new, since I've been searching through XDA topics on many occasions for quite a few years now. Not sure why it took me so long to actually make an account, but here I am.
So about me - half geek, half creative, F/LOSS enthusiast for over 20 years, full time Linux user since 2006, interested in way to many subjects to ever become a specialist in any of them within at least a dozen of life spans. Hence I don't think I'll ever be able to call myself a developer, but hey, we'll see ;-)

More than anything, XDA is a community, and we're all here for different reasons.

Some are here to mod their phone--some joined just to ask a question. Or perhaps, like many, you joined so long ago, you have no idea why you're here (which is totally fine! we've been around for almost a decade). And we're in the process of making XDA more useful to everyone here now that we've moved to much better forum software.

But we'd love to know your XDA story: why are you here, and who are you? What's your day job, what phones do you have, where do you live, what do you like to do for fun? We'd love to get to know you!

Also, be sure to spend some time filling out your profile:

And also adding what phones you have to your inventory:

:cowboy: thanks and welcome. I'm one of the guys in charge and my DMs are always open if you ever want to chat or even complain.

Go ahead and make a new thread in this forum instead of replying to this post.

Hello everyone, i'm back here after a long, long time

I used to read alot here when i was 10 - 15 but I think i switched to iOs during 2010s and i never really had my phone in the center of my occupations so i bought some macbook & iphone and i started to learn code. (mostly js)

I would be really happy to help users here, if i can, and discuss about my new device. ;) 2020s seems to be redditable as **** tbh, the xda lost kid became some kind of creative dev who's going back to the r00t

Thank you for everything I have read here over the last years!

Hi. I'm a french CS engineer and a Debian addict.

I systematically root all my phones and have a specialization in tuning the iptables to not talk to the GAFAMs. Rooted phones so far : Huawei codenames HAM, NEML51, old samsung phones, a couple of Wiko phones.

I've been following XDA-developers for a decade and decide now to onboard :
    * Short-term goal : get some help on a very edge case involving dm-verity and kali nethunter on Nexus5X (bullhead)
    * Long-term goal : wait patiently for the day when a full debian phone / ubuntu touch will be available at a relatively low price, and help all along
