Introduce yourself! What's your XDA story?

Greetings!

As someone into tech-related news relating to PCs and to a lesser extent smartphones, XDA is one of the many sites I've seen with some good info, including some insight into the value of custom ROMs and their associated risks.

I haven't really felt the need to actually try it though until recently to see how long my OnePlus 5T can continue to last with a newer OS so it's more likely to run most apps I need that will get future updates from the Play Store. It's admittedly a flawed experience but I'll try to figure out more and give some personal details as I go along.

Hey guys! Nice to meet you.

The first time I came across Lineage OS was when I used a Moto G3, around the year of 2018, which was my first experience with a custom ROM. I used it for about 4 years and it was a great experience. I also installed Lineage OS on a few other phones in the meantime. It's a great ROM. Currently I'm using a Xiaomi Redmi 9A, which is pretty laggish unfortunately, and I'm looking for ways to improve its performance, maybe by using a custom ROM or whatnot.

In regards for your "jj fire"(? I am unfamiliar with the device), I suggest you use the search function to see if there is any section/forum/thread in which you can post/ask your questions or information.

E aí galera, blz? Chegando aqui no fórum XDA devidamente registrado (antes só utilizava para consultas rápidas). Sou Thiago, tenho 38 anos e sempre gostei de todo tipo de tecnologia, tanto que me aventuro diariamente fuçando o que aparece. kkkk Meu foco hoje está voltado para análise de dados e data science, mas não abro mão de um hardreset, custom rom, formatações, instalações, etc.

Inclusive, me registrei no fórum para pedir ajuda.. (vou criar um novo post sobre isso). Pois, já tentei de tudo, pesquisei tudo e não consegui resolver.

Thanks to your explanations, I managed to root and install "LineageOS" on 2 smartphones "Xiaomi 7A" and "Huawei P8 lite" and "/e/OS" on "Samsung J3".

Hey folks,
I’m at least a few steps below noob when it comes to any type of development. I’ve attempted to root a number of phones in the past, don’t think I’ve had any success since my HTC Dream/T-mobile G1, once upon a time.

As I return to school for engineering, I’m looking into playing with noobish low-grade app tinkering/development, to learn and build tools for personal use. In this vein, I‘m looking to pick up a Galaxy S20 or something similar. This time around I decided to begin with research and be sure I get a phone whose bootloader is capable of being unlocked, before I get a phone and discover I’m on the wrong side of things. Lots to learn, and not entirely sure where to start. So here I begin!
