Hi I´m Larry. I´m a new one into the club of modding and customizing mobile phones. I switched from windows phone lumia which i really loved until it died some years ago, because of legacy status by microsoft. Now i´m using a Oppo find 7 with android which is sadly legacy too this year. Hopefully i will find some great tutorials to built a custom rom for this phone again, because i love it and do not support this update / buy new phone every two years **** which is a standard desaster these days by google samsung etc. I wish the times smartphones will only die because of there age, not of there unsupported operation system updates.
RIP Lumia. I'll miss those!

More than anything, XDA is a community, and we're all here for different reasons.

Some are here to mod their phone--some joined just to ask a question. Or perhaps, like many, you joined so long ago, you have no idea why you're here (which is totally fine! we've been around for almost a decade). And we're in the process of making XDA more useful to everyone here now that we've moved to much better forum software.

But we'd love to know your XDA story: why are you here, and who are you? What's your day job, what phones do you have, where do you live, what do you like to do for fun? We'd love to get to know you!

Also, be sure to spend some time filling out your profile:

And also adding what phones you have to your inventory:

:cowboy: thanks and welcome. I'm one of the guys in charge and my DMs are always open if you ever want to chat or even complain.

Go ahead and make a new thread in this forum instead of replying to this post.
Hi, this is Nishchya Pratap Singh from India, and at first, I came here to flash a custom from in my Nokia 3 which I couldn't (i unlocked the bootloader and rooted my device successfully) and bricked my device. As a result, now I am searching for ways to unbrick it!

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hey ya'll, I've been around awhile observing and soaking up knowledge. I have been dabbling in development for near 2 years now. Currently working at modifying several devices namely Samsung. I thought it was time to start paying back. Thanks again and I welcome questions and comments

Good morning, first time android user here, heard about this site while browsing my tech sites and loving the info and everyone's input here. Pretty excited to get my new phone this wednesday, getting the samsung s21 ultra unlocked. I'm just a dad, love to relax when I can, kids are 7 and 1. I love to try to play some xbox when I have free time and I am starting my new job next week, so things are finally going into the right direction. Thank you for allowing me to join this site.

    Hello everyone,
I've been lurking around from time to time for a while now but I've decided earlier this year to keep as much distance as I can from Google services on my phone. That's why I switched to Lineage and I'm following my phone thread here.
    Have a nice day,
    Sekhmet

    Hi all,
this is my first post but the most important for me. It's first such proffesional forum where we could to find almost everything what is needed :)
I would like to write Hello to everyone on this forum ;)

I am at the begining of the adventure but I need to learn all concerning android/linux.
I didn't realise before how important is to know how to use devices on android/linuks platform but in the proper form.

I lost over one year of my life because of using my device as child- I mean installing and accepted all requirements of each app.

Finally I was hacked and someone almost destroyed my life probably for fun.
As 40 years guy who has the best two children on this planet I have to learn and to know all to be safe in the cyber world because it's also our "real life".

Hello all! I have never created an account here until now. I don't know why, lol. I have used many of xda resources over the years on projects I have done. My interests are gaming repair and mods, building custom machines, kali linux, front end web development, Android dev, and so much more I can't think of at the moment. I'm currently working on a few certificates to expand my knowledge of the machines that fascinate me. Thanks for allowing me to be part of this outstanding community!

Well hi all, I'm 'new', but not really that new, since I've been searching through XDA topics on many occasions for quite a few years now. Not sure why it took me so long to actually make an account, but here I am.
So about me - half geek, half creative, F/LOSS enthusiast for over 20 years, full time Linux user since 2006, interested in way to many subjects to ever become a specialist in any of them within at least a dozen of life spans. Hence I don't think I'll ever be able to call myself a developer, but hey, we'll see ;-)

Very interested in Android technology and rooting.. that being said I used to be able to root a Android phone fairly easily but this was 10 years ago but now it has become more difficult for me

    Hi everyone.
I stumbled across this site years ago, and have re-visited on rare occasions (I'm not a tech savvy user), but never really felt the need to sign up until now. I recently got an LG G5 on ultra cheap as a secondary phone. I've always had an interest in their handsets, but ironically, never got around to actually buy one until LG shut down their phone division. Anyway, with the free time I have nowadays, I thought I'd tinker with this device a bit.
