Nothing special about me...my wanting to join is to hopefully address certain issues that "may" arise in the functionality of apps that i use on my outdated asus z380 tablet. Iam not a dev btw. What better way to get help than on a dev help forum. Thx for having me. I will be extremely semi active through 2023.
Cheers

Hi all, I am a 56-year old woman, trying to get to grips with some of the things that goes on in life. I like to fix things myself but most of the time I am not successful, so I have a lot to learn and room for improvement. I am interested in learning as much as I can on mobile phones and computers, but I have not qualifications on IT or anything like those subjects, so my learning is a lot by trial and error. I am trying to teach myself python, but it is not going that well. I get bored... However, as I like to fix my own things I have been told to join this XDA forum. It does look daunting - I don't even pretend to understand the jergon that you most use, but I am here...

My Cubot X50 NFC function stopped working. I made a payment in a coffee shop and 4 minutes later I could not use it anymore. The NFC function was dead, even when I had done nothing different. I have reset it the phone, to no avail. although the Google Wallet states that the NFC is on, it does not even vibrate when attempting to pay with it. Can anybody help me, please?

I sold my used Newer Mazda for an extortionate price so instead of doing something good with the money I bought an abused JDM which needs a new radio.

The lack of anime girls in android auto always bothered me. So now that I don't have to worry about bricking my car, I'm here to see if I can fix that issue.

hey guys i am a newbie here.
i am an open source developer and contributor. Recently my interest towards android rom development increases alot so i decided to join xda developers
to start learning and expanding my knowledge in this domain. i tried RROS and lineage OS 18 and i found both of these ROMs really great
to tinker with RROS have alot of customization available and on the side lineage OS offer simple and clean ROM to start with.

Hi everyone. My story: Having installed LineageOS 18.1 to my J7 2015 J700M, I ended up with wrong IMEI, giving the "Emergency Calls only" message.

Searching for solutions, i I ended up seeing deep posts about how the efs partition works, nv_data files and more.

I know that there is paid services that can restore my IMEI, but with some Software Engeenering background, I'm now atracted to the idea of making workarounds with this files to get my IMEI back.

If someone can guide me, where to start to do my homework, i'm open to hear all your ideas. I know that is an hard task, but I'm commitment to make advances at an slow pace 🧑‍💻.

Thanks in advance.

    HI you guys are awesome

Well hi all, I'm 'new', but not really that new, since I've been searching through XDA topics on many occasions for quite a few years now. Not sure why it took me so long to actually make an account, but here I am.
So about me - half geek, half creative, F/LOSS enthusiast for over 20 years, full time Linux user since 2006, interested in way to many subjects to ever become a specialist in any of them within at least a dozen of life spans. Hence I don't think I'll ever be able to call myself a developer, but hey, we'll see ;-)

More than anything, XDA is a community, and we're all here for different reasons.

Some are here to mod their phone--some joined just to ask a question. Or perhaps, like many, you joined so long ago, you have no idea why you're here (which is totally fine! we've been around for almost a decade). And we're in the process of making XDA more useful to everyone here now that we've moved to much better forum software.

But we'd love to know your XDA story: why are you here, and who are you? What's your day job, what phones do you have, where do you live, what do you like to do for fun? We'd love to get to know you!

Also, be sure to spend some time filling out your profile:

And also adding what phones you have to your inventory:

:cowboy: thanks and welcome. I'm one of the guys in charge and my DMs are always open if you ever want to chat or even complain.

Go ahead and make a new thread in this forum instead of replying to this post.

Hello everyone, i'm back here after a long, long time

I used to read alot here when i was 10 - 15 but I think i switched to iOs during 2010s and i never really had my phone in the center of my occupations so i bought some macbook & iphone and i started to learn code. (mostly js)

I would be really happy to help users here, if i can, and discuss about my new device. ;) 2020s seems to be redditable as **** tbh, the xda lost kid became some kind of creative dev who's going back to the r00t

Thank you for everything I have read here over the last years!

Hi. I'm a french CS engineer and a Debian addict.

I systematically root all my phones and have a specialization in tuning the iptables to not talk to the GAFAMs. Rooted phones so far : Huawei codenames HAM, NEML51, old samsung phones, a couple of Wiko phones.

I've been following XDA-developers for a decade and decide now to onboard :
    * Short-term goal : get some help on a very edge case involving dm-verity and kali nethunter on Nexus5X (bullhead)
    * Long-term goal : wait patiently for the day when a full debian phone / ubuntu touch will be available at a relatively low price, and help all along
