when someone gets a chance could they type up a tutorial on flashing? I have seen many people posting that they new to android or new to root methods etc. I don't feel I am well enough versed to type this walk through up for someone.

Now how can we get the latest odin tar of the official firmware? is it possible to pull it from the phone like the OP did with this one?
just flashed, having a bunch of force closes, not sure if this is completely stock image?
stock but off old leak. until orig is out best we can do for now i think.
you have to wipe data in stock recovery...thats why I posted a tutorial.
downloading the stock system dump from beanstown now. let's see what that will bring us.. (or you, i don't have phone).
as an aside i won't post that other image. would be an abomination.
almost there... relinking a bunch of binaries in system/bin to toolbox. then will package and upload. just have to do that manually.

If you ODIN downgrade to this older image then run PC Kies wouldn't it detect and download the full new image? That's how it works with my Note 10.1 but don't know if it's different since Verizon is involved.
