GV app still doesn't look right in ICS.. haven't had too much time to figure it out, but will soon.

I think I read somewhere that it only works right if you replace the stock SMS with this one on a fresh install.

Did you tick the box for the black background option?
I haven't tried it yet, but looking at the code, it looks like he added the option, as opposed to just a mod. Pretty sweet.
