This phone has so much potential to be the best kept secret in the XDA developers price to performance category. At $310.00 USD for the 6G/128GB version there is a ton of phone for the money. It also has plenty of 4g bands so it can be used pretty much anywhere in the world. I have no experience with VIVO. All I've seen in reviews on youtube is they make really nice looking phones that cost an arm and a leg and perform the same or under their peers like Xiaomi and Realme but cost much more. Then recentIy stumbled upon the IQOO Z1. This phone could be so awesome if there was a way to get past all the Chinese garbage on it and just flash it to a custom rom like I did with the Le Max 2. That phone was loaded with Chinese bloatware but after you guys started making custom roms for it the phone is still going strong almost 5 years after it was released! Has there been any talk about unlocking the bootloader on the z1? It's probably too new to even discuss this right now. The phone was just released on June 1, 2020 and I have seen nothing about anyone trying to make a custom rom on the Dimensity 1000 Plus chipset.
I was looking at the realme x50 5g to replace my aging LeMax2. Even thought the 5g bands are worthless in the USA the 4g bands are supported by Tmobile. I thought at $250 this is a good price/performance phone then I saw the Iqoo z1. There is not a lot of info or reviews on the phone except in Chinese at the time of this post. Looks like a wolf in sheeps clothing when you see the gpu and cpu scores!

Do you know what's the consequence of having high price/performance for Le Max 2? LeEco has went bankruptcy.
I hope vivo won't be the next as I am highly satisfied with vivo iqoo z1 and vivo nex S.
However I am not optimistic on vivo development as they are keep rolling out infinite number of models which even vivo fans not able to distinguish.
It introduces high software update cost and lack of a representative product of the brand.
He's going not going on the right track.

No, I know Chinese and I read the Chinese forums. You know what?
It has a higher benchmark score with normal mode than it has in monster mode (overclock). Overclocking introduces tremendous heat which triggers throttling.
I suspect power saving mode would even score higher consdiering the temp and throttling.
