Is another big firmware update coming soon? According to G Flex 2 photos - yes!

Hey guys!

I was very disappointed with the G3's Lollipop because it seemed exactly like Kitkat but with a few feature of the Lollipop.
System apps changed nothing, soft keys are the same, etc. It was a really messy and ugly job from LG.

But if you check out the video and the photos on The Verge you can see that the G Flex 2 has Lollipop - but with the new Lollipop styled buttons - even in the camera app.

It's logical to assume that we will have the same look and update on our G3s too, right? :)

Just for the record, the G Flex 2 is an absolute BEAST! I skipped the G3 cause of the S801 with the QHD display but I'm so getting the flex 2.

Yeah, nice specs, would have been cool if it was QHD but should make little difference. Also hoping that refreshed software build comes to our G3 also - would be nice !

I prefer the look of the G3 and the QHD - but if they won't update the firmware I will jump to G Flex 2.

If not I will wait for G4. :) (Or G5, who knows? G2 is still a beast!)

What are you running on your G3 currently? I'm running the current official from Illusion and it's a great ROM, far better and much different than anything KK I've ever used. BTW, the softkeys look exactly like the ones in the Flex2 review.

I'm running the original stock firmware. :)
I did not tried any non-official roms but I might change my mind in the near future after my experience with LG's Lollipop! :)

Have any of the other manufacturers made any major changes for their lollipop update? I doubt it tbh. The update looked exactly as I expected I imagine its similar for Samsung and the like keeping touchwiz the same and probably HTC unless they have made changes to sense apart from maybe on new devices

I'd suppose the next update will be to fix the lollipop memory leak 5.0.3 or whatever they number it

Even Samsung revamped system apps completely!
It's true that it was way older and more ugly, but still they changed the system apps and look completely.
I don't know anything about HTC yet.

I'm a little surprised a lot of manufacturers get a little lazy about that and when you expect change with a new android version you get minimal if any usually

the first thing i noticed about the G flex 2 was the Lollipop Softkeys

i hope LG Update our G3 With this softkeys soon
But they're UGLY :cyclops: and over simplifyed

WUT? Their dialer looks completely the same as it looked in 2.3 GBread. Only flattened a bit

So LG's UI is still MOST conforming to Lollipop's guidelines UI as of now
