You need magisk to get the root access

The Eu is not pre rooted afaik

Actually wipe what? There are 3 options: Manual, format, factory reset (through swipe). On my old one plus 3 I was usually swiping manually data\system\cache\dalvik or swiping for factory reset. Keeping the internal storage intact as I needed for flashing the rom. I don't think internal storage has never been an issue,so I don't think I need to wipe it.

Don't you have root on your phone? Magisk should be essential, shouldn't it? Is Xiaomi.EU rooted by default?

Pop over to the EU forum, https://xiaomi.eu/community for twrp and the ROMs. Use twrp once installed to format data. You know when you have to type yes to format.

I read that wiping system partition is never recommended,but I used to do it on my one plus 3, how come? What is wrong with it?

Honestly I'd just get the China Model. Before buying it I was SOO worried about not having Band 66 on ATT. I've literally had zero issues. LTE is really fast. Calls never drop, ALWAYS have really good service. I live in a fairly rural market so this isn't like a city littered with coverage.


There's also another poster on here who has T-Mobile that says he has had AN AMAZING connection. Even said he gets 5G. So take it from someone who was worried about getting the Global because of Band 66. It really doesn't matter. I get VoLTE, great coverage, and fast LTE. I got the 512GB Model for HUNDREDS cheaper than the Global 256 Model is selling for right now online.

I can attest that I get outstanding coverage with t-mobile here in Los Angeles with zero issues and very fast 5g, and it is actual 5g because when I go in my parking garage or other areas it will show LTE instead. and also did a speed test and can attest to getting over 100mbs download speeds. And this is all on the Chinese version

Probably it's me but I found this Xiaomi.eu Rom not to be as refined as described. Here in UK I feel the 5g connection is slower, also app loading is slightly slower than global stock rom. Ram used is is the same as stock while I was expecting to be much over the 8GB. More apps are running in the background. These things I don't understand, I might have done something wrong but don't think so. Datas have been formatted multiple times as well as cache and dalvik before and after installing the rom. Also bloatware seems higher than global stock,why? But what piss me off the most is the app poading from cold boot,why it is slower? For example WhatsApp and google play store load the slightly slower as well as a weird zoom in animation on static wallpaper before app start,is there a way to remove it?

I would say it is personal preference!! The thing I hate the most about the Xiaomi Eu Rom is that Chinese Theme App!!!
I hate my phone showing chinese Characters on some of the Lock screen Themes
Apart from that I would definitely recommend everyone to try it out!! You can always go back to stock if you don't like it!!!
Performance is better on Xiaomi EU and it does have more features If only for that Chinese Theme App.

Not in global. The problem is that it is not legal in some countries, so it gets restricted.

i want to ask is, I'm currently running the latest 12.5 stable rom for the MI 11 Ultra, when I try to access the "wallpaper" and "themes" in settings, it crashes. I cannot also change my lock screen wallpaper for some reason (even with a third party app), im using the stock launcher.
