EU weekly is currently suspended as it's getting A12, may even be today but soon. Most recent is 21.9.1.

Not in the slightest

Its a terrible rom and there is a reason why it isn't offered on XDA, its a mess to install and there is no benefit if you are already on Global.

I was using Xiaomi.eu for about a few days, the themes app is majority in Chinese, some of the themes I've tried installing them & they end up having Chinese characters. And most themes aren't compatible too.

It's not here because it is developed by Xiaomi EU guys and their forum, so remains there. It is based on the most recent branch of the Chinese stable or beta release.
As it is based on the Chinese versions, it does have some translated Chinese apps like the theme app but has lots of pluses too as well as getting updates earlier normally. As for performance, well it is not the fastest ROM if you're a gamer or constantly looking at performance scores but as a good all round ROM, it's the best I've tried. But as I don't like Google dialler, contacts and text apps, the Xiaomi versions are great for me.

I don't like it when I hear people slag it off as terrible when most have never tried it and just listen to others giving it a slagging who also never tried it also.
There must be some good in it as the very few custom ROMs being tested for the 11Ultra are all based on it!
To install, unlock your bootloader, boot twrp, flash the ROM, format data and away you go. Updates are by ota still. Now that's not a mess or difficult. And you don't even need to join Xiaomi EU forum to get it, just head over to mifirm.net .

You can download the ROM from xisomi.eu without joining

They have mirror links on sourgeforce and Android file Host that anyone can use

I can't agree more in all your opinions here.

I have it my self (miui 12.5.17.0 stable eu rom) and i must say im so happy i changed global rom to the EU stable rom.

Its soo smooth and fast (i never play games).
Xiaomi really nailed it since 12.5.12, its awesome.

Until 1 month ago i had both Samsung S21 Ultra and MI 11 Ultra BUT after i got miui 12.5.12, i kicked S21 ultra out of the house and never regret.

And i dont like all the Google apps to, so win win for me.

Xiaomi EU smooth and fast I don't think so. Global ROM is smooth and fast

Errr yes ofc, but little more boring, but it all depends and we all are different with different needs.
Yes you like it most stable we all know, nice for you
Good day to you.
I will not say EU is smooth and fast (i dont play game too)
Im with EU 12.5.17.0 too. More bugs than global (tiny bugs but i hate it), still wasn't Enhanced MIUI (lol)
Sometime phone will lag, it looks like refresh rate is changed to 60hz, and i really hate it

Is not a matter of what I like, but what to recommend people. I don't wanna do a campaign against Xiaomi EU, anybody can do what they want, but if I have to recommend a ROM, for the global/European market, I will always recommend the official ROMs, because they are smooth, blazing fast (apps opening, games, benchmarks) and with less bugs, so I can't see why people should not use them. Its is either ridicolous and unacceptable to use a ROM that performs worst than a 2+ years old device like a Mate 20 pro (which is also only 60hz) on a 2021 ultra device worth 1000+ £. In the case somebody would like to use chinese customizations, I would in that case recommend the original Chinese ROM which is the most updated and thus performing. But in any case I would recommend a ROM that does nothing but globalize chinese ROM. In the old days, installing a custom ROM meant to exceed the performance and the customizations of the phone, in this case none of this happens. So what is the meaning of using this Xiaomi EU ROM?. So I will always recommend official ROMs for Mi 11 Ultra

Only on A11, A12 has no working trwp, so updates are by fastboot method. Download to your pc and extract the files, connect your phone to the pc in fastboot and click on the update bat file and wait till it reboots. Done.

I switched from the global rom to Xiaomi.EU ROM. it does have its advantages. they removed 5G restrictions which means I can get 5G in the us. I am also now getting Dolby vision in Netflix. I haven't run into any bugs so far, and it seems as smooth as global.

I have the CN version currently as it arrived this week finally and I'm torn between unlocking the BL and flashing eu rom or just sell it and grab global. I currently use AT&T sim in tray 2 and like you said I have full signal including 5G in most places and I'm sitting on Band 2 in NJ. I also tried my VZW sim as I saw a previous member mention it and sure enough it also worked once I disabled carrier Volte check and I was sitting on Band 4 as well at my house.

The only thing that keeps me wondering if it would be better is that the global version has a true 5G n5 band under AT&T and even VZW which most likely isn't even available for all i know in my area, but for an extra $500 is it even worth it I keep telling myself lol.

I believe you are on the eu ROM correct? If so how do you like it compared to the CN rom? Do you get all notification icons on the AOD which is driving me crazy on the CN rom that most don't pop up.
Yes, the .EU ROM fixes all those dozens of tiny little quality of life issues you have with the China ROM.

The thing with the China ROM is this: It's mostly okay, but there's a tiny little small things that drive you nuts. Individually they are no big deal. However compounded they do add up.

I actually used the Global standard Mi 11 back in Jan-Feb. I also flashed the official Global ROM on my Mi 11 Ultra for a couple days.

the .EU ROM is VASTLY superior to the OEM Global ROM. Night and Day. You get all the bells and whistles/polish of the China ROM, with sprinkles of Global ROM mixed in. IF I somehow got the Global Model with Band 66. I would STILL unlock the BL and flash .EU

I'd be more than happy to help you flash .EU. I know lots of people have bricked doing it, But I've switch ROMs literally 10 times or so. I've bricked my phone 4-6 times. I've basically figured out, how to MAKE SURE you will not get bricked when flash .EU. I know because I've figured it out by trial and error haha.
    4
First of all apologies for my ignorance. I only had one Xiaomi phone in the past, which was a Mi Mix 3 now the Mi 11 Ultra will be my second.
From my understanding, Xiaomi.eu ROMs are derived from the official CN ROMs. But is it worth the effort to install the EU ROM on a Global model? I guess I would also like to know, which would be faster to get updates: Global or EU?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

UPDATE: if you're hesitating about installing the EU ROM like I was - don't. Just unlock bootloader and flash it. It's definitely worth it. Two of the major improvements I've noticed is battery life is significantly better and phone doesn't get warm like it did on global firmware. Personal experience may vary, but for me it was worth it. Plus, I'm no longer stuck on MIUI 12.
    3
I guess it all depends if you don't need a locked bootloader. Some people need their bootloader to be locked for some professional apps (Or a few banking apps, etc...). Most of the time Magisk manages to hide your unlocked bootloader but not always. So you have a risk for this in this very particular case.
If you don't need your bootloader to be locked, then go for the EU ROM. As explained by others you get more features and updates much earlier than the global rom gets.
All banking apps, and Google Pay NFC payments work with unlocked bootloader on .EU ROM no Magisk needed.
    2
How is the EU rom compared to the stock global? Is it debloated? Or You have to debloat it yourself?
