is it just me or is the display pretty disappointing

heres another example notice how the clouds on the note 10+ are pink where they are perfectly white on the xperia so you could be tricked into thinking it's afternoon in that video, also another strange example notice how the stars are nearly gone on the note 10+ it makes no sense where did they go? thats exactly what it looks like in real life also notice the blue around the galaxy it's nearly gone on the note 10+

It is different, but i could not tell which is right.
Xperia could amplify every tiny pixel because of a lack of local intensity ladder or something. The Xperia could amplify the blue as well, which looks very.. very... artificial to me compared to the green aura on the note10+.
The galaxy itself is nicer/sharper on the note10+.

On the landscape the colours on note10+ seem more natural to me... Check on the left, it is not ccurate on the Xperia.
I mean, be honest Zz! You are kind of stubborn i think and fail to see the plus or minus of each.
You have clouds in the sky (GREY) on the left, and on the Xperia they reflect to BLUE in the water ??
Right side the trees (GREEN) reflect black on the Xperia instead of green. What the f.k.

Might want to provide us the original for local check on our notes... also what is your screen setup

Do you use any third party app for notification which uses camera hole as notification circle ? try disabling them , i did watch same video on YT and local download version mine looks white and not as pink as yours

thats the thing this would be all good on the natural setting but i choose vivid with the coldest setting for a reason, natural colors look dull to me they may look artificial on the xperia 5 even i agree that they are too vibrant at times making it look more wonderful than dull real life just captivating compared to the dull image of the note 10+ i do not want natural as natural is dull theres a vivid option and temp slider for a reason those two options should work, i never wanted accurate calibration on displays as accurate looks like a yellow mess to me i always calibrate my screens setting them to the coldest possible setting with the any color enhancer set to max in some situations set to medium, the xperia 5 has great white it has great colors it dims outside of the youtube and photos app which is a reason i never kept the xperia 1 and wen't for the note 10+ instead, as for the light app thats my own app it does not affect the image

but even judging based on pictures is not a perfect way of judging i can't capture the difference properly on camera all i can say is the display on the xperia 5 is just colder with more striking colors in some ways the note 10+ has slightly more saturated colors but that dull yellow brown or red overtone is noticable it's subtle very subtle but it's enough for me to notice it, to some eyes the color of the note 10+ is likely better it's all about preferences hence the temp slider but to my eyes i prefer the overall tone of the xperia 5, but in terms of color my xz1 still looks best with it's supervivid mode something i want back but the xperia 5 is pretty damn good for no having it, the note 10+ may very well be mmore accurate i don't know i am not going to say that the display of the note 10 is generally terrible but my eyes prefer the more light vibrant colors of the xperia, for some reason the youtube app and photos app forces a higher brightness than possible i thought this was xperia specific but i noticed it does it on the note 10+ too when it does this the warmness of the display gets much stronger than usual, where on the xperia 5 it stays cold the way it should, to put it simple the display of the note 10+ is way too warm even on it's coldest setting i have red and green under advanced display settings set to 0 it literally should have a strong blue tint with white almost looking blue because i removed red and green entirely which is coldest than dragging the temp slider to the coldest setting (which it also is in) and yet it doesn't thats evidence that it's so warm that even making it extremely cold still keeps it warm, like on my xperia xz1 of xperia 5 i can't even keep the blue to the highest setting because it gets a strong blue tone and if i turn both red and green down to 0 the white literally goes blue but on the note 10+ i can't in any way calibrate it so far that the white goes blue it's as cold as it gets now, i mean again see attached picture both are as cold as they possibly can get with blue max and red and green 0 notice how the xperia now has a strong blue tint to the white while theres no blue in the white at all on the note 10+ the xperia is too blue at that setting but colors do appear more vibrant white however looks blue so that makes that setting too cold for me, but the fact that the note 10+ has no blue tint at all just shows that it's so warm by default that you can't even get it cold, the temp slider should just have the text less warm warm really warm

i had the display swapped after the frame cracked the last display it had was the same and yes bluelight filter is off adaptive brightness is off i always make sure all of it is off from what i can tell i am not alone with this it seems the exynos model is overall more yellow than snapdragon
I've compared them side by side (I have a Korean model, my coworker bought his from Verizon) and the screens look identical. Wouldn't really be any reason to make different screens just because the CPU is a different part.

This means nothing to me. Show me against a 100% color accurate DCI-P3 or sRGB display and show all of them to really get a good idea. Whenever I have an odd photo or something I think looks wrong I go to my laptop and look at with a color accurate display and compare. Phone vs phone is a poor comparison to make without knowing color modes etc etc

I compared the note 10 plus 5g(exynos) with a iPhone 11pro and both panels looks the same bright at full brightness with note being a bit brighter looking when has vivid mode on.
The vividness on note makes colour to punch (especially red and yellow ) ,but if you turn vivid mode off the colour on iphone look more vivid
I think those 2 phones have the best display atm when outdoor.

This reminds me about pixel 2xl screen calibration.
If you think the note 10 is too yellow and xperia 5 right ,then why don't you take a white A4 paper and put next to it both phones on a full brightness and white background, then see which white is better.
Talking about colour shifting and cold or warm display

Ive not read every single post but glance over the thread each day. While you could point out whats missing in the N10 display vs Xp what about the other way around?

To satisfy my own curiosity I played the video on my N10 and PC and saw no difference in detail or color between the two... The clouds appear bright white with dark shadowing and no presence of any color tones. Also the small island/rock on the far left is complete and not degraded.

Video Enhancer = on
Vivid color = on
Cool to warm slider = [----25%----------]

Have you tried the advanced settings and adjusting the RGB values? You might be able to knock the red value down slightly and lose the pink tone. The bigger question is why should you have to?

as i mentioned i have already adjusted the advanced color settings and have knocked red and green down to 0 and max for blue

i don't know why i seem to be the only one, i always wanted a note because it's been praised as the best display of all time i finally got a note 10+ and the display disappoints me to no end, first off the colors are dull, my xperia xz1 on super vivid mode has more vibrant colors, second off the brightness it's not amazing if i compare my note 10+ to my huawei mate 10 pro the huawei appears more vibrant and bright, the huawei is running a custom rom, my note 10 + has custom white balance settings with green and red turned down to 0 and it's still too yellow for my taste the screen mode is itensive and yes bluelight filter is off, when i use the note 10+ on it's own i get used too it and i see no issues with the display but then i start up my mate 10 pro and get a much whiter better white and overall brighter image, my note 10+ is set to +10 brightness and high performance mode all auto brightness off and max brightness, white still appears dull colors appear dull, why am i the only one who feels this way?

My N10+ Display is mindblowing! seems you got the defective one !

here you see how insane the difference in color is between the two

https://twitter.com/ZZCOOL/status/1182244036993830912?s=20

and again it's a camera picture it looks smudgy in the picture but in real life the xperia 5 is the best display i have ever seen where the note 10+ looks dull and literally washed out in comparison like a white cloud is ontop of everything washing out the image where the xperia is vibrant and sharp from the picture you see how big of a difference the calibration is between the two and how much stronger the colors are on the xperia 5, i don't know why people praise the note 10+ display or any galaxy display sony won as soon as they wen't oled i have never seen such an amazing bright and vibrant image the curse is that you can't experience that vividness on the homescreen as it lowers the brightness there.

In your twitter example, Note10+ is more realistic, far more accurate. The flashy colours on the xperia are just plain wrong. Look at green leaves, on the XP they just make no sense and the pink on the flower looks like a raspberry chuppa chups.

To answer your question :

YES, it is Just YOU

You are the only one having these problems

So either your display is still wrong calibrated or your display is defective

But please stop bashing the phone

It's definitely not a widespread problem and except for the refresh rate the note10+ display is surely among the best with the iPhone 11 pro

Frankly, I can not realize what is going on with your"display" , I have compared mine with some of my friends', a p30 pro, mate 20 pro, an iphone XS, XR, Samsung S10+, note 9, note 8, in side by side fashion, and though differences can be appreciated, mine is way better overall, in some instances other displays look somewhat better, in others not, but NEVER to the extreme ugly images you are posting, so, you may have a very bad device, bad luck or else, go claim warranty or get other device, as you will not convince anybody here that the note 10+ display is that bad, just stop bashing this device, and start some positive actions to solve your problem, good luck
