is it just me or is the display pretty disappointing

Frankly, I can not realize what is going on with your"display" , I have compared mine with some of my friends', a p30 pro, mate 20 pro, an iphone XS, XR, Samsung S10+, note 9, note 8, in side by side fashion, and though differences can be appreciated, mine is way better overall, in some instances other displays look somewhat better, in others not, but NEVER to the extreme ugly images you are posting, so, you may have a very bad device, bad luck or else, go claim warranty or get other device, as you will not convince anybody here that the note 10+ display is that bad, just stop bashing this device, and start some positive actions to solve your problem, good luck
I just have a hard time believing I can use warranty when you see no issue unless you compare it to other displays how can I prove to them there's something wrong when it's a matter of colors being different there's nothing wrong with the display it works its just bad in comparison to other displays how can I prove to them that can someone take a photo of the note 10 next to another oled screen phone so I can see if the brightness is similar

this thread was mostly to note the issues with the display and to find out opinions from other people now based on all replies i think my display is defective but how can it be it works just fine if you compare it to nothing it's completely fine theres no obvious defectiveness with the display it's just dull in comparison to what my eyes are used to, if i tell samsung service this and they see the display working just fine how can i convince them i feel theres something wrong with it if i don't even know if theres something wrong with it maybe it's just the way it should be which is accurate and more true to life, but thats the thing i never want accurate displays i prefer a more vibrant image i always have thats my preference hence why i use vibrant display modes sony comes with something called x realit or bravia engine it enhances the picture and it does work https://twitter.com/ZZCOOL/status/1182260577961467904?s=20

this engine may be the culprit on why the image just overall looks better on the sony to my eyes where the note does nothing to the image making it look the way it's supposed to which in my eyes is just washed out and dull which may be natural i don't know, again i don't know if i have anything to stand on when it comes to using warranty unless i literally bring the xperia to samsung service and let them see themselves, the biggest weirdest problem is how white goes brighter on the xperia than the note i don't see how that is or why it's happening, this may be the one thing i can use when it comes to warranty, but running a youtube video with colors side by side just makes the xperia blow the note 10+ out of the water and i don't want this considering i can't afford to keep both the note 10+ and the xperia and even if i did afford to keep one i would have to use one of them as my main phone letting the other just collect dust and be played with and admired once in a while meaning a 800 dollar toy as i don't see myself replacing the note 10+ with the xperia as my main phone unless i could sell the note as then it would be an investment, if i could have the same image quality as the xperia but on the note 10+ i'd be really happy i remember the xperia 1 also being mindblowing when it comes to how high brightness it's capable of when it forces it in certail apps, as of now the display on the note 10+ is not acceptable to me when it's supposed to be the best and it's not, the reason i provide images is to show everyone that it's not bias and that it's literally what i am seeing, everyone still praises it saying it's better so i feel someone need to have a xperia 1 and 5 and compare them side by side, and even then it's difficult as some may prefer the more natural image of the note 10+ rather than the enhanced one of the xperia so they'd just need to say that one appears more saturated, colder, less washed out than the other as that would prove to me that it's not a defect but an intended function, with the xperia 5 i don't even keep it as cold as possible because the white gets a blue tint and after i noticed that red gets less saturated the colder it gets i stopped having it to that extreme level of cold now i have it much less cold than i used to meaning this display can be too cold and too blue to the point where it suffers, i can't do that on the note 10+ it's not possible to get it so cold that it gets a blue tint or for it to suffer i can make it so warm that it suffers and gets extremely noticable but never too cold which shows how warm that display is, you can't make it too cold it's not possible no matter what you do no matter if you pull the red and green down to absolute 0 and blue to max theres no blue tint theres no major color shift, i also do feel sony deserves credit for this more than they do now if the display really is that much better then it deserves being mentioned the displays are possibly just as good just the calibrations being different i don't know what kind of panel sony uses though, i just have a hard time believing it's a defect on the note10+ but i do hope it is so i can get it solved or even get it refunded, i really want it to be better because right now the note 10+ is the ideal design for me which ironically is because it looks like an xperia more than a sony does today with it's curved displaycorners and asymettrical bezels the note 10+ simply appeals to me more and the xperia 5 is smaller overall i also can't really love the 21 9 aspect ratio the note 10+ is a better experience because design is the most important aspect to me when it comes to smartphones display being second most important aspect the speakers are also better on the note 10+ more powerful from what i can hear, the note 10+ looks like the sony loop design that i fell in love with so yeah i want the best display to my eyes but the differences may be subjective, the xperia 5 is just not a daily driver type of phone it's too small too tall and the xperia 1 doesn't appeal to me designwise as much as the xperia 5 does because the 5 has a flat glass back where the 1 is curved, i sure miss sonys old design so much like the loop design or z series, so yeah i really don't want the note 10+ to suffer in display quality, i put myself in debt for 3 years for this note 10+ at this cost i will dissect every aspect of it, a litteral achilles heel of the xperia is that it dims the display down outside of the youtube app or photos app making the white look rather dull just like the note 10+ and theres no way around this unless you're rooted from what i have read so thats not ideal to me either, the comparisons are done in the youtube app though where both the note and xperia boosts brightness past max brightness and once the note does boost brightness it goes even warmer.

the reason i don't think it's a defect is this https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-Note10-Note10-Note10-5G/Note-10-Brightness/td-p/1279291

that and samsung boasted about getting rid of blue "harmful light" so that worries me that the display really is the way it should be ironically i replied in this thread where i mentioned the 10+ brightness trick eventually i discovered it was more of a placebo it does get better with 10+ brightness in performance mode just not as good as i mentioned in the thread which i quickly discovered as soon as i got the xperia, the note 10+ actually wen't through a samsung authorized repair because the phone shattered when i dropped it and i was hoping the new screen would be different it wasn't so i am going to go to them on this and see what they say, i also noticed that theres an opening on the sides of the phone where you can stick your nail inside not sure if it's meant to be like that but it is closed then it slowly opens up in the middle where the backglass and metal meets so dirty and skin collects so thats one reason to go to them again.

here it's mentioned again hence why i think it's not a defect :(

I get the impression that you are looking for clicks on YouTube and Twitter

You had your answer several times and still keep on complaining
the reason i am posting twitter links is because every time i try to upload a picture it fails i would prefer to attach them here thats literally the only reason so i can't upload one thats the only reason, i am not looking for clicks thats just the only way i can show pictures, what do i get from 5 people pressing a video that by the way is not even monetized? i don't even recall linking my channel theres nothing in it that would make a difference it's a dead channel and getting 10 clicks on a video isn't going to matter, i don't care about clicks what i do care is both warning people that the display is not as amazing as people say and to be vocal about the issue to create a discussion to give the issue attention, it's the same about the removal of super vivid mode i posted in every thread i could both on xda forums and on sony forums because i care about these things, i am religiously obsessed with picture quality and design and i care about issues relating too it i want it to be a discussed topic in order to maybe in some way encourage change, i am always vocal about it if a company does something i like i will keep telling them over and over again to let them know that what they did created a positive reaction, my voice may not be worth anything but that doesn't mean i won't try, smartphones overall are important to me hence why i attempted a few years back to design my own and when theres issues i will mention them over and over again to give it attention in hope that it makes a difference in some way, like the mi mix alpha has no curved display corners the entire shape is one perfect tube shape which is what i wanted the note 10+ to be like, so i praise that openly over and over again, i am simply obsessed with these things and i like to have a voice on them i have never liked to stay quiet when it comes to things i am this passionate about and the smartphone as well as displays overall is something i am more passionate about than anything i mean i used crt until like 2013 because they are better than lcd until i finally moved to oled which was good enough to replace my crt, and i am waiting dearly for microled, these things may not matter to you but every detail matters to me every single detail and i like to have a voice on everything.

Yeah, what do you really want to accomplish? My screen, as the vast majority's screens at least here in XDA look great, so, what is the point of reapeting the same rant over and over again? You exposed the flaw in YOUR screen, leave it at that, move on

thats the thing i do not think it's a flaw in my screen i hope it is which is why i am going to take it to samsung service soon but i am not the only one saying these things watch the youtube video i linked that gray white is identical to the gray white that i have, the difference of white in that video is as large as i have, so if you yourself have access to a different phone such as the iphone x or other oled phone please compare the white of the two and let me know if they are different, thats one of the reasons i made this thread both to determine if theres something wrong and if there isn't to give the issue attention, because paying 1200 for this is just too much.

Frankly, I just do not need to make further comparissons, my screen looks absolutely great, white is white, period
and that to me is strange which is exactly why i made this thread it's great for you yet other people are complaining about white not being good enough same for me it's a faint gray, the video i linked clearly shows how much stronger the white on the iphone is, does it depend on the display lottery does the snapdragon model have a different calibration these are all things worth discussing

Screen is gorgeous and you can get white by tweaking, even though there is less blue light than before.
That is probably why you keep seeing something versus older phones that annoys you but will not affect other people... matter of taste maybe.

Same kind of feature equips Note10/10+ and S10/10+.

Galaxy S10 users can sleep soundly knowing that their smartphone’s display has been certified by world-renowned testing firm TÜV Rheinland1 to drastically reduce blue light’s harmful effects. When building the display, which received TÜV Rheinland’s official ‘Eye Comfort’ certification, Samsung applied new organic materials that reduce blue light wavelengths measuring between 415 and 455nm (the range that research2 suggests is particularly harmful to the retina) by up to 42 percent3 – without the use of filters.
Due to materials used it already protects from blue light without the use of filters... Samsung went this route to protect people eyes. The certifications for screens might get more and more anti-blue light in the future and samsung has probably taken an edge here.

Myself i use blue filter all the time, and lower the display downto something like 15-20 % and barely push it. I work on computer whole day and would not want to become blind because of it...
It may be why i do not feel affected by any screen issue. However, if i really want to push brightness etc, what i get is kinda white and colours seem accurate.

i have left my note 10+ at samsung service as they failed to push the glass down properly so they are redoing the repair, i mentioned the brightness and display issue i wasn't told that thats how it's supposed to work so they will take a closer look at that too.

The display in this phone is probably the most amazing display I've seen on a device to date. It's Crystal clear, and the colors are insane. I have mine set to vibrant and FHD with screen brightness just under half whole or if the daylight. Very easy on my eyes and always have people asking what device I'm using.

You are not the only one

i don't know why i seem to be the only one, i always wanted a note because it's been praised as the best display of all time i finally got a note 10+ and the display disappoints me to no end, first off the colors are dull, my xperia xz1 on super vivid mode has more vibrant colors, second off the brightness it's not amazing if i compare my note 10+ to my huawei mate 10 pro the huawei appears more vibrant and bright, the huawei is running a custom rom, my note 10 + has custom white balance settings with green and red turned down to 0 and it's still too yellow for my taste the screen mode is itensive and yes bluelight filter is off, when i use the note 10+ on it's own i get used too it and i see no issues with the display but then i start up my mate 10 pro and get a much whiter better white and overall brighter image, my note 10+ is set to +10 brightness and high performance mode all auto brightness off and max brightness, white still appears dull colors appear dull, why am i the only one who feels this way?

Yes my dear friend you are not the only one to experience this I previously had Samsung galaxy note 8 and upgraded to Samsung galaxy note 10 plus
When compared Samsung galaxy note 8 with Samsung galaxy note 10plus I found the colours on Samsung galaxy note 10plus to be dull

I am very disappointed about this thing
I thought colours will be more vivid and bright on Samsung galaxy note 10 plus but the thing was not as I expected.... Colours are dull than Samsung galaxy note 8

Hope this helps.... Me and you

I come precisely from a note 8, and the note 10+ screen is way better, so, I just think how unlucky for you if your devices are so awful....
If you currently have Samsung galaxy note 8 then apply same wallpaper on both of the devices and see the difference yourself and let me know about your experience...

Let's see the difference

I am posting what I see comparing the two devices, just that, if your experience is different, bad for you, in my case, the note10+ display is way, way better in all aspects than the note8's, I am not tying to prove/convice nobody about anything, I am just sharing my experience with the 8 and the 10+, just like that
