I'm just trying to sort this stuff out, before I perma-brick my phone.

To my understanding, this model of the htc m8 was released (produced?) just for Sprint.

I am wondering if it is even possible to learn how to root/flash or whatever and cause this phone to operate on GSM networks, or is the hardware/firmware fundamentally different and this feat is literally impossible?

Anyone know off the top of their head?

If it is possible, could someone provide me a checklist, so to speak, of what hoops I'll have to jump through in order to do this?
Thanks in advance!

I have addressed this issue on the other thread you started. This topic doesn't require a different thread (related to your original question/thread). So I don't know why you started a new thread. Doing so, just clutters up to forum, and confusing people. Such as the previous responder. If you kept all the info in one thread, he would know the phone is supposed to be SIM unlocked already.

yes, actualy im using a htc 831c with GSM BAND
All due respect intended, if you want to help, you should provide some details on you accomplished that (if anything), not just way it works (not really useful). Did you have to unlock the SIM yourself (or was it purchased already SIM unlocked), if so, how? Is it s-on or s-off? Any other mods? Without specific details, your response isn't useful to the OP.

Also, the OP is carrying on parallel conversations, about essentially the same problem in his original thread, linked below. This just adds to the confusion, and we should keep the discussion to that other thread (if you look, the OP has since made other mods, given much more info, etc.). I've noted this in my past post, so you should try to read the posts in the thread before responding. Please don't post to this thread any longer. I'll contact the mods to close this thread, as it is redundant and confusing.
