I have to second Omegared37.
Tried this on an SM-R895U already updated to One UI V3.0, and *#272*IMEI# does nothing using the watch dialer.
*#1234# works and gives me:
CSC: R895UOYM1DUJC
which I cannot really identify in https://tsar3000.com/list-of-samsung-csc-codes-samsung-firmware-csc-codes/
I am trying to bring this up for LTE service in Canada (hopefully changing it to "XAC: Canada (Unbranded)", but I cannot seem to initiate the process.
I saw mentioned using Google dialer on watch instead of the Samsung one, but I cannot find it or an APK to sideload.

Just finished a 3 hour marathon on Samsung support where they told me that there is no way for them to escalate my request, as their official stance is (quote):
The LTE version of watch device is optimized for the carrier frequency of the
country where the device is sold, so it's not possible to open and register the
device's LTE network service in other countries. It's only available to connect
with smartphone through Bluetooth and to use.
I am sure I don't have to elaborate on how inacceptable and unfounded this is, so will give it a few more tries before returning the device, which so far is by far the best smartwatch I have ever seen. I cannot accept that locking these down to a country (while the silver version of this is not available in Canada) can be justifiable business conduct.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I changed my country on my non LTE version Samsung Watch 4 Classic .

This is what I did ( using the tools provided on this forum) :

I first followed the steps in this video ( I had to do this in order for my BP & ECG to work) - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...estriction-removed-19th-january-2022.4322527/

Then followed the steps below to change country ( worked 100%) :

Steps on phone :
  • open Samsung Health app
  • click on the "3 dots" in right hand top corner
  • click on "settings"
  • click on " about Samsung health"
  • click on "set features"
  • click on "common"
  • change "CSC Country code" to (whatever you want)
  • close
  • Force STOP "Samsung Health app" - via phone settings / Apps
  • reopen "Samsung Health app"
  • country changed

Is there a solution for this? Facing similar issue. Bought it in UAE but only European regions are available. I cannot select India as region hence cannot use local apps.
Mine is Samsung galaxy watch 4 Bluetooth edition.

Hello,

I tried the 2 methods given in this thread and neither worked.

Directly on the watch with *#272*IMEI# gives no result.

And with the modified Samsung Health app, there is no France as a country. And even if I choose another country, it does not seem to modify the software of the watch...

I have an SM-R865F model, with an SM-R865FZSADBT csc which corresponds to Germany. I would like to pass the csc in XEF for France in order to be able to use Samsung Pay and LTE.

Is there anything new or another possibility?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Sybalau,

I have also a Samsung watch from Germany. I did not try any solution to change the CSC. But I Can give you my workaround : I use Google pay on the watch. I also configured a shortcut so that when I double press the upper button it launches gpay.
If it can helps...

Forget all those "carrier frequency optimization" crap given by Samsung tech. The real reason Samsung regionally locks its smartwatches (specially its US (U) models) is to push the sales of NumberShare plans with 3 available carriers in the US, so that you would not be able to set up standalone plans.

Fortunately there is a workaround for that, as I spent sometime figuring it out how I can activate the US model on Canadian carriers. The solution, however, is not straightforward and it requires some levels of collaboration from your carrier. Depending on your carrier and how willing and clued-up they are, they might be able to help you out.

As for the solution, you may check the link below, as the guy had the same issue and got it fixed. I also followed the steps and got mine fixed. But I can tell you the most challenging part is to call and ask your carrier to add-on smartwatch plan for you. Most likely, they'll tell you to go and add from the Wearable app, without realizing you can NOT add it from the Wearable app cause it's the US version trying to activate it on Canadian carriers!

Solution:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyWatch/comments/vukdsf
p.s. If your Wearable app doesn't automatically show scanning QR code option, then you need to follow the steps mentioned on post #3 of the following thread :

Good Luck

If I type this code to show it on the video, can I just go back? vsmysle cancel the operation without selecting the region? video for the channel on youtube
@shaker74 Posting the query, I hope someone will be able to help. I brought Samsung Galaxy 4 from South Korea. Now back in India, it does not have WhatsApp, Samsung Pay, and Mobile Plan also give error. ECG and Blood Pressure are anyways not working. Since you faced a similar issue, would you be able to confirm if the steps followed to be able to help me fix these issues

    Only as info.

Meawhile confirmed by more then me userS...

It is possible to change active CSC
    WITHOUT Root
    WITHOUT Combination Firmware
WITHOUT soldered wires... aka USB cable

Latest confirmed Firmware Version is GVK6 (SM-R875F) LTE

So IMHO GVK7 should also work...

You can go in every direction you want... more then 1 time... you can test every CSC inside your Firmware...

It is based on this Exploit trick to bring system user... system shell...

No idea how long Samsung need to fix this... I think not so fast with AWA3 Firmware...

If you are able to use ADB... then IMHO not impossible...

Its not perfect How to... but tiny beginning...

If I can help... then I will try to help...

    Only as info...

Should work also on GW5 including AWA3 Firmware Version...

    Best Regards

I just purchased a Galaxy Watch 4 in my country (Israel) and when setting it up I found out that it is a grey import with the country list being limited to a small group of Mid-South American Spanish speaking countries (Cuba, Colombia, Guatemala, etc.).

I understand this affects my ability to use Samsung Pay in my country. Would the region lock affect anything else in addition to this?
Also, Would it be possible to somehow change the region of the watch?

Hello. can you describe step by step what to do after you enter the code
    Sure
Note* This method can be done if it is LTE varient
Step 1: your watch dial pad enter the following
*#272*IMEI# ( enter IMEI number of your watch)

Step 2 : Select the region code or Russia (SER)
And select the option install (the watch will reset and reboot automatically)

Step 3 : pair with Mobile again and install the samsung pay plugin in your mobile

Step 4: open samsung pay in your watch and follow the steps it will prompt to mobile to add the card

I'm in India after doing these steps even LTE works fine and I get samsung pay too

I have attached the samsung pay watch plug-in for the mobile
