Is it worth getting the pixel at Verizon for an almost $400 savings?

Title says it all. If I use my Verizon upgrade I can get the pixel at just over $300. I would love to have my bootloader unlocked, but do people think it is worth it to spend another $400 to get it directly from Google?

I'm in the same boat as you. Already have the 32xl coming from Google. If the Verizon bootloader gets unlocked soon I will prob return it and order off Verizon. I just don't like Verizon locking down my devices.

After seeing it yesterday, I'm not sure what phone I'll end up buying, but I'd probably take $225 in gift cards from Best Buy rather than an unlocked bootloader.

I don't really need mine unlocked anyway. It'll be nice if someone makes it happen, but it was in no way a deal breaker for me.

I ended up cancelling my Verizon order and ordering from the Google store at the expense of bot getting the phone for a month later. While I don't mess with ROMs much anymore, I do like the freedom and with the dual partitioning it may be possible/fun yo play with dual-booting possibilities. Also, I figure a GS version will be easier to sell down the line when it's time to upgrade again.

Are you I just wanted to the store and decided not to buy it. Whole point of this phone it is the pure Google experience, and I just felt like it wasn't worth the money at this point given that Verizon would have its hands on it. Currently on the Droid Turbo running cm13.

Where are you getting that much in gift cards from BB? I'm only seeing $100 and a free Chromecast.
I think the $200 requires a new line of service, and it should show up when you add the phone to your cart and choose new customer. The $100 and $200 gift cards used to read that they were ending in November, but currently the website indicates it ends Sunday. There is also $25 for signing up to My Best Buy Mobile. One person on Slickdeals said they were sold a contract when they bought a phone online, so I'd do it in store to make sure to get a monthly payment plan that can be canceled.
