Is keeping my op6 on pie worth the potential security risks?

My preferred set up for my op6 is having one slot rooted and the other not rooted while on oos 9.0.9. I have found many reasons to keep my phone from updating such as the apps available and battery life. The only problem I see is the August 1st security patch. Can any developers or anyone who actually knows what they are talking about tell me whether this is a bad idea and or if there is a way to get the latest security patch while still on pie. Thanks in advance.

As my experience is not a big deal as long as u'r not using bank app, etc!
Pie is more stable compare to Android Q~haha

Never care about that **** security patch....
Any problem, just erase the thing.

Alright thanks for the advice. Mostly I use the unrooted slot because the company I work for instacart, won't let you login with a rooted device.
