Is my Mi Band 4 bricked?

Hi guys,

to make it short, I have a Mi Band 4 since around 2 weeks and I was quiet pleased with it - until now :/

So the Band is locked down and only shows the message: Connect to Mi Fit and update. (There was a new update this week)
The thing is, my smartphone is not linked to the Band right now (it was before) and I'm not able to get a connection.
Mi Fit on the other hand tells me, that the linking failed and I should do a factory reset on the Band - the Band I can not control...

There seems to be nothing I can do with the app nor the Band itself to get the whole thing working again...

Any ideas?

Can you try and unpair the band from the app?

You could try pairing with this modified Mi Fit app. Not sure it'll help, but worth the try.

I had to reset my phone, that's how I lost the pairing.
Maybe the Band still thinks it's paired, but it's not :/


Tried the modded app and just like with the actual app, pairing gets instantly denied.
So the phone at least still finds the band


I've tried a different smartphone as well

When a Mi Band is "stuck", it is usually recommended to let the battery die (to force a reboot) and they try again. But that can take more than a month, battery life is insane.

I've just realized, that I already had a message "connect to mi fit and update" - when FW update process got interrupted. I couldn't do anything on the band and Mi Fit refused to connect to it (pairing was ok though). After I disabled and enabled Bluetooth on the phone, connection was established and FW upgrade luckily finished fine.

Do you have Mi Band paired in phone bluetooth settings? If yes, try to unpair it from there. If not, try to pair it You might try these steps as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iQuoSxm4Dk

The last resort would be probably a warranty replacement.

So to finish this topic, I would like to mention that I send it back and already got a new Band.
But thanks to everyone who tried to help me :good:


Everything I tried to pair the Band failed. Playing around in the Bluetooth settings, the Mi Fit app (even the modded one), Gadgetbridge and Mi Band Master. Nothing worked.

I even managed to drain the battery in two days, but that didn’t help either


My pro tip to drain the Mi Band 4 battery really fast:
Place it in your sink and make sure, that a drop of water hits the display every second or so.
This way the display will be activated and kept active for hours!

Happened to me too.. my band dead after the battery empty and can't boot again till now. Anyway i can turn it on again?

Hi,

It started about two days ago while my son was playing with the mi band 4. I don't know how he did it and neither does he. As I stated earlier I can only see a green pairing logo inside a circle and at the bottom it states "Pair first" and secondly I can swipe down and and it shows me an orange shield logo with text saying "regulatory" under it, which in turn shows me logos of Europe and Russia and India etc. Besides this I cannot see or view anything else.

At this moment I am trying to drain the battery with water , by having it on slow drip.

SOLVED IT. My son reset the device to factory setting., so I managed to get it back by connecting it to MiFit app, but before I was trying to connect to it via direct Bluetooth.

Hi i found a way to get your mi band 4 active again, you have to open mi fit and make a new band , then down in the menu and find update mi band (if your mi band don't work, turn the Bluetooth off and on again), in the update menu said that something is wrong, maybe firmware or resources, then you have to install notify for mi band and find update firmware on tools page, and download the firmware, resources and font, after this my mi band 4 activated again, i just make this xda account to tell my way to you, hope it works...

My Band 4 is also bricked the battery went flat but eventually it was able to be recharged. Now the Band is frozen and not pairing or synchronising with my phone any more and only displaying 2 screen views, one with a green circle with chinese writing and one with a orange shield with chinese writing which when tapped displays the CMIT ID. No matter how many swipes or taps it wont reset. How do I bring it back to life.

The old phone broke! I don't know how to restore it!

If I try to pair it, it connects but gives an error and says to reset the bracelet to the factory data, but how do I do it?

È iniziato circa due giorni fa mentre mio figlio suonava con la mi band 4. Non so come abbia fatto e nemmeno lui. Come ho affermato prima, riesco a vedere solo un logo di abbinamento verde all'interno di un cerchio e in basso dice "Prima coppia" e in secondo luogo posso scorrere verso il basso e mi mostra un logo a scudo arancione con il testo che dice "normativo" sotto di esso, che a sua volta mi mostra i loghi dell'Europa e della Russia e dell'India ecc. Oltre a questo non riesco a vedere o vedere nient'altro.

In questo momento sto cercando di scaricare la batteria con acqua, facendola sgocciolare lentamente.

RISOLTO. Mio figlio ha ripristinato il dispositivo alle impostazioni di fabbrica, quindi sono riuscito a ripristinarlo collegandolo all'app MiFit, ma prima stavo provando a connettermi tramite Bluetooth diretto.

After a long research I found the solution. The thing is that the band is stuck in Pair First screen, so it is impossible to do Factory Reset on it. On the other hand the Zepp Life APP (Mi Fit) do not pair to it saing that you shoud Unpair it first or do a factory reset. Then it is impossible to proceed even using a hammer to open the device. Until now!!!! The trick is that you have to create a new Mi Fit account on Zepp Life app but when it ask you witch country you live YOU MUST CHOOSE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. Don´t use your real contry because it will not work. Good Luck!
