Is sprint blocking torrents now?

Meh not idiots really, just people who think they know everything. I used to download torrents fine up until a few weeks ago. They're shaping traffic now it appears as that Sprint forum post I linked to confirms. This comes right after the FCC lost the net neutrality case against Comcast too which seems more than coincidental to me. Sprint isn't going to win any popularity contest by doing this. I'm already close to switching to T-Mobile.
Yea it actually just started happening to me yesterday and I already started shopping around for other providers. I didn't know about the FCC case, that's very interesting. Good luck to whoever you switch to but like I said before it seems that several ISP's are starting to do.

I traveled to North Carolina where they have sprint towers and successfully downloaded a torrent, it looks like I may be right about sprint partners... Hopefully there's a way around it without paying for a vpn

I tried but it would only go up to 700 bytes a second and down to 25-50... So sad?

So it's more or less a limited speed? Does it eventually drop down to 0 download speed as well?
Stupid question, but does the torrent file have seeds? Are your upload speeds affected as well?
Just trying to help diagnose the problem. :)

I tried on wifi and wasn't able to get any of the torrent apps to download a torrent. I'm sure in my case it was human error.

Those are sad :( Have you tried using a different torrent app just for giggles?
Are you running a stock rom? If yes does any cyanogenmod rom give the same results?
Have you also tried a proxy? Sorry for the 100 questions lol

I know for me whether I'm tethered to my PC (3G or 4G) running µTorrent or running a native Android app like tTorrent the result is the same. It never even gets as far as downloading the magnet link metadata. DL speed is in bytes.

In those screenshots you have 0 peers online. That probably explains why it's not downloading.

That being said, I'm in central Louisiana and haven't had any problems with torrents. I use tTorrent on my phone as well as vuze on my PC with WiFi and/or USB tethering. All of this on an AOSP ROM. I didn't do anything extra or special to get it working either. It sucks that y'all are having problems. I wish I could say why it's working for me and not you.

I've torrented maybe 400MB of stuff via my phone in the past week (through tethering to my laptop; WiFi is down, so I've had to use the hotspot.) They connected fine for me (through uTorrent), and I got at most around 400 kb/s, which is pretty okay. After reading some of these threads, I don't intend on doing it anymore though, I'd rather not have my contract cancelled.

Anyone find a fix? Or at least an alternative? I saw someone mentioned trying to download torrents with more seeds. The problem is that it won't connect to peers, even if there are plenty. I tried encryption and it worked at first but no longer does. This happens with all torrent files, all apps/programs, regardless of speed or service. Oddly, though, once in a blue moon it will work perfectly. But that's rare.

I use Dolphin Browser and UTorrent Pro fine on Sprint :/ Popup blocker or Firewall enabled app of any sort? Built into your browser?

Quoted the wrong post lol.

Have used different browsers with same results (even using built in search engines such as ttorrent) Not using a firewall app that I'm aware
