I'm considering purchasing this, but Im worried about vivo policy of not supporting unlock because it requires root. so think unlocking is realistically difficult?
yes. I hope that vivo will officially support unlock like oppo.I don't know much about x90+ but considering that unlock was only possible on X80 pro on the 1st version of W10 models (12.0.10.5) using modified software and requiring some kind of 'hack' (sending 2 files at the same time from 2 terminals) and that this exploit was fixes basically for every single release after, I'd say that root isn't going to happen on x90 (at least not using the same method)
I am considering purchasing x90 pro+ and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, I think I will have to purchase it with Xiaomi 13 Pro because of the unlock.Have you purchased it? I am also considering buying it from China. Need unlock, root and lineage on it
I think its a generic tutorial available for all Android phones.Root seems to be possible on vivo x90 pro+ :

Be careful with frequencies and bands. Not all are supported by Xiaomi in China. Vivo does.I am considering purchasing x90 pro+ and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, I think I will have to purchase it with Xiaomi 13 Pro because of the unlock.
If you are european, careful. Check you carrier bands as Xiaomi tends to miss at least one major 4G band lately.I am considering purchasing x90 pro+ and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, I think I will have to purchase it with Xiaomi 13 Pro because of the unlock.
There is no unlock method written inside the contents.Root seems to be possible on vivo x90 pro+ :

Yes . You can install gapps without root .Would it be possible to flash gapps without unlock?
I am really thinking about buying the Chinese version. I will keep the original os (no root) but I would need at least to install gapps. Possible?
It's not working. Same with Google maps timeline. Can someone who already owns the device confirm whether "OK Google" or "Android auto" work with the device?
Thanks appreciate it. Let's hope they will release the "global" version soon.
on x90 pro+ i see in dev options OEM Unlock and is described as bootloader unlock, can anyone confirm that I can install funtouch on it once is released>?
Same here, althouh side by side the Vivo seems to be a superior device to the Xiaomi.I am considering purchasing x90 pro+ and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, I think I will have to purchase it with Xiaomi 13 Pro because of the unlock.
As will I. I'm not going to go through another two years of not having root access to a device that cost me over AU$1200 to buy outright.Have you purchased it? I am also considering buying it from China. Need unlock, root and lineage on it
I'm confident one of the developers here will create a rooting solution soon, if they haven't already, especially when from all the reviews I've seen so far about the X90 Pro+ IMHO it's going to be one of the top five selling smartphones this year.I am considering purchasing x90 pro+ and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, I think I will have to purchase it with Xiaomi 13 Pro because of the unlock.
Doubt it will ever be possible.
Look at the xiaomi and miui eu community.. they doing it already several years without any problem, You can unlock bootloader and install this popular rom or whatever rom You want to have there.. thats real freedom for users.. why not able to do that for example vivo or oppo? why they year after year so strictly in that and not give a users freedom and put there what they want to have there? why that misunderstandable way?So run the bloatware removal script I made and remove those Chinese apps.
The OriginOS supports basically every major language I can think of. You really think Funtouch is going to do better?
What proof you have that FuntouchOS is better for non Chinese users? All of us using OriginOS are basically not having any problems.
You want to root the phone, remove a perfectly working OS just to install another "just because"? and then lose device security and play store integrity and banking and payment apps etc? Not very smart. Definitely doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
The Xiaomi community is the Xiaomi community. You're comparing apples to oranges.Look at the xiaomi and miui eu community.. they doing it already several years without any problem, You can unlock bootloader and install this popular rom or whatever rom You want to have there.. thats real freedom for users.. why not able to do that for example vivo or oppo? why they year after year so strictly in that and not give a users freedom and put there what they want to have there? why that misunderstandable way?
I don't own device with origin os, also I'm too lazy to dig my fun touch phone farther (lol, I didn't even try to manipulate device with AT commands [atcid_factory and others binaries]. Since people can install com.vivo.vtool then you can try to dig firmware with uid1000. First step is to analyze all *.rc scripts and what can you do with setprop.Unless Pervokur pulls another one of his magic tricks bootloader unlock will NOT be possible.
Besides that, converting your device from OriginOS to Funtouch bares a huge brick risk and certain things are not working on the x70 pro+.
