not sure if I even need one.
I wasn't sure either, then I won one from AT&T. Now I am certain. I don't need it. Lol, it has been out of the box exactly 2 times. Once to see what I won, and the other time that I took it on a flight to a job. Between the tablet that I have, the phone itself, and my 17" laptop. The lapdock had no function other than being an amazing backup battery...

Sorry for being such a downer about it. But really, while it is a great idea, I can't find a place for it in my loadout.

They should've made a Tabdock. Or at least used the phone as the mousepad. Or made the dock with a touchscreen. Or maybe if I had smaller hands. Heck I dont know. I just don't need it...

while you are entitled to your own opinion... the point of the lapdock in your case would be so you DONT have to lug a tablet AND a 17" (thats pretty damn huge.) laptop around at teh same time. The light lapdock and the phone should suffice for all your travel needs.

I believe that if you are unsure of yourself if you need the lapdock, for the most part, you probably don't.. but if you have a mindset of not having to lug multiple types of devices at once, then the lapdock is for you.

the lapdock is what it is. i'm sure it will progress into something better or worse down the road. right now, for me, it has it's uses and is worth $200 to me. really wish i had piad $150 for it, or that the atrix had hdmi mirroring already making up for the $200 price tag. honestly if you think any price is too much, it's not for you. it really isn't. it's limited. it would be better i think with hdmi mirroring. android is pretty versatile in a netbook form, you would get better performance due to webtop not stealing your ram and for the emulator/video guys. cha ching. better fps and no lag due to hardware.

Uhhhhmmmm,,,, ok. I mean I feel ya Bro... But what the heck am I going to do if a nice deathmatch breaks out???!!??? It's the only way I get to play with rocket launchers. And what about shooting your friend in the back. No way I am missing out on that stuff.

FYI I am just having fun. I do understand you and why it makes sense for certain folks.

See that's a whole different story. If you have an intent to game it up during your travels, then by all means, take your powerful lappy :) my intent was directed towards students/business men

I'm also thinking about getting a laptop dock but I was thinking the future of Atrix 2, What if I want to upgrade my phone to Atrix 2 will be compatible with the laptop dock? I have to buy one now and later it will not work.

probably not. theyll probably change the connectors just enough so that youll have to get a new lapdock like they did with the bionic.
