Is there a difference in performance between the Amazon and Regular Editions?

Was wondering if there is a difference between both devices in performance because of the added ads on the lock screen and apps... I have the Amazon 32GB version and it runs great and love it... But every Performance gain is always appreciated especially when Android N releases for our phone....

Technically, the regular edition should perform better, since there are less apps running in the background and your phone won't be pre-cacheing Amazon apps in RAM. Unless you usually keep a bunch of apps running, it's probably not much of an impact.

Hardware wise however, there isn't a difference.
