The answer to the original question:

If you know how to use adb -
adb shell
pm hide com.samsung.android.firmware.tsp
pm hide com.policydm
.....
Repeat for any packages you want to disable.


If you want unhide those, the command is "pm unhide [package]". Hidden packages will not show up in "pm list packages", but will show up in "pm list packages -u".

It worked for some people for the first upgrade changing the ROM I think, I hope this is enough though

I'm not rooted though cause I'm on the new firmware.... I wish a root would drop asap so we could all stick it to Samsung and use OUR phones the way we want. So much misinformation out there it passes me off. I have been told 10 different things from sprint and Samsung. All I know is I am still able to charge above 60. Others please update if they encounter anything.

Same here. So far so gd. No root, no prompt of updates.

Package Disabler Pro does block updates(ON THE OLD VERSION ("DONT UPDATE" package disabler pro it re enables updates in the version released today!!!! ))
(my app has not been updated so if you need my APK let me know) (i found this out by reading the change log on today's updates)
You can stop the OTA if you disable the following:-
Software Update - com.sec.android.soagent
Software Update - com.wssyncmldm
UrgentFWUpateSensorHub - com.samsung.firmware.sensorhub
UrgentFWUpateTSP - com.samsung.android.firmware.tsp

But the update "is coming"....
I blocked every data connexion.
Until I root.
