The (VZW) phone is network unlocked by default. The type of lock that they use is a software lock that comes preloaded on their firmwares.

Yes i have observed that because the international sim does work for a few moments then a notification pops up and it stops working.I have flashed the U1 firmware but it didn't solve the problem because csc is still VZW.
Haven't tried flashing the ATT version though.
Will it work?

Flashing the AT&T version was the only thing I did and solved the problem. But if you're getting the network lock code input screen on the U1 firmware, I'm pretty sure you'll get the same on the AT&T firmware.

It doesn't ask for a code. It just says "Your phone can't be activated on another carriers network right now"
Are you using an s10 or a note 10?

I haven't tried the AT&T, I bought a Verizo sim, waiting to arrive just to make the test to have the sim place 3 - 60 days to unlock. Let see...
As the lock is on the CSC can we modify somehow and erase that part of the network lock?

Great! Lets look for a way to unlock this one....

Bumping this. Has anyone figured this out.

VZW swears up and down its unlocked on their end but I get the same error that it can't be activated on another network.

EDIT:
S10+ ended up working fine, it rebooted into with a TMobile splash screen.

S10 5G is work-in-progress you can follow Here ended up using a paid service to fix my S10 5G SIM issue.

My wife purchased a note 10 plus from a reputable seller on Ebay with over 100% 1500 positive feedback and Verizon claims the phone is unlocked. We've talked to numerous representatives including a supervisor who says the problem is on straight talk. Straight talk claims it's Verizon. She gets about a minute of network before she gets kicked off with a message from Verizon (phones a Verizon phone)

Sorry your device can't be activated on another carrier's network right now..

Searched high and low for anyone else with this message online nothing.. Verizon and straight talk never seen this to them

Any help would be amazing

Also tried everything in network settings and still no luck

I spent a lot of money trying to unlock this phone in service. All the codes generated by the servers did not work. The phone goes perfectly a few minutes after I ask for network lock code.

if he is a good friend who can help us with some clean software or another solution?????

Just received my S10+ a few hours ago. Purchased online through Verizon with device payments. This is probably my 8th Smart Phone purchase with device payments and never had one carrier lock before. My last 3 phones (Pixel 2 XL, iPhone XR, Note 9) have not been carrier locked what so ever even if they are financed.

Today shortly after activating and setting up the device, I pulled my Verizon SIM out and inserted my T-Mobile SIM like I've done many times before. I instantly got a message that said "Sorry, your device cant be activated on another carriers network right now."

Could this be Verizon Carrier locking the phone or is there an issue server side at Samsung?

The phone activated with no issues on Verizon's end, calls, messages, data all working fine.

The very first power ON was on Thursday around Noon with a T Moible SIM. The phone quickly rejected it and I installed the sim it came with. I messed around with it for a few hours until I gave up and just left the Verizon sim in it.

Today (sunday) I decided to try the T Mobile SIM around 4PM and noticed it was working so I posted an update.

This is why I've been buying unlocked straight from Samsung for several years. I learned to live without certain services but now everything works on S10+ (WiFi Calling, VoLTE, etc.), so I couldn't be happier. Verizon sucks ass as far as customer service and draconian rules but they still rule as far as service goes.

FYI.. The reason Verizon phones have been unlocked in recent years is because of a deal between them and the FCC when they acquired lowband spectrum. The deal of having the phones unlocked expired last year as far as I know because I remember there being articles mentioning that. That may be the reason why if you buy directly from Verizon the phones are locked.

Phones off of Samsung website are unlocked phones running carrier software so that's why those are unlocked by default.

Same issue in Mexico. I received my device today, try with Movistar (Mexico) and the Horror message showed "Sorry, your device can´t be activated on another carrier´s network right now..." So based on recommendations I will wait 48 hours, does the chip needs to be inside?
    Thanks!

VZW sim card, yes. But I wouldn't waste my time if I were you. Just flash the AT&T firmware and get on with your life.
