issue connecting htc sensation 4g in windows 10

I am trying to reflash my recovery as it got corrupted when battery fell out during a CM14 os flash. phone gets stuck during boot on cm logo. and going into recovery screen goes blank and just flashes on and off.
trying to use fastboot to flash recovery but windows 10 says usb device not recognized when connecting phone to pc. latest htc drivers installed. listed as unknown device, device cannot start.

AFAIK there are no working drivers for win10
you can try only in win7 or win8

Just tried in win8. issue is the same.

Windows 7 works good.

yeah in win8 there are specific steps to make drivers work
