Hi so I've been trying to flash TWRP 2.8.7.4 using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-hd/general/install-cyanogenmod-12-1-barnes-noble-t3211119

Currently I have a bootable recovery for CWM, and I have tried to flash TWRP, however I got a status 7 error. So I googled for a fix and found http://highonandroid.com/android-roms/how-to-fix-status-7-error-with-cwm-recovery-on-rooted-android/ Did it again and now for this new install of TWRP it just states installation aborted. The photo linked shows both of these.
Also note that as your saw for status 7 my device doesn't have a name "This device is - "
Not sure what to do.

Which Nook tablet did you try to flash?

Ovation is for HD+, Hummingbird is for HD.

Also, you should use CWM v6.0.4.6.

HD+. I did read the guides ;) .

Are you saying I should use CWM v6.0.4.6 for the installation of TWRP?
Or are you saying I should use CWM v6.0.4.6 for the installation of my ROM?

According to the guides, you can use CWM v6.0.4.6 to install CM12.1 ROM but you'll need to use TWRP to flash most of the Gapps packages available.

What I did was to use CWM v6.0.4.6 to backup my CM11 ROM and install TWRP, then boot and use the newly installed TWRP to install CM12. 1 ROM, Gapps, and SuperSU.

As I've said before I have already read the guide. I already know I need TWRP to install Gapps that's why I'm trying to install it.

"What I did was to use CWM v6.0.4.6 to backup my CM11 ROM and install TWRP, "

Again this whole topic was because I could not install TWRP and I was asking for help to do so. Please re-read the OP.

FWIW, "Status 7" error typically results from incompatibility between the device or the recovery and the zip file to be flashed.

Okay, so maybe not entirely. :D Did you try the latest version of CWM to boot to? Also, did you know that there is a bootable recovery made with TWRP?
I wasn't but then again through my travels I didn't come across a guide on how to install a bootable recovery of TWRP. If you have a guide / forum post to link me too I'd be quite grateful.
