Can you guys check your order status real quick? I ordered just after midnight on the 24th and my shipping status reads: Expected Ship Date: Not available at this time.

I'm just curious is all. The Verizon thread guys were wondering as well as some state dates and other's state the above.

I just leave the Verizon forums, saw your post there and now you're here.

Mine still says the 27th and I ordered the day after the per-orders went live.

Don't get me wrong, I am pissed as much as anyone that other carriers already have the Note 2. But Verizon couldn't care less when they release the Note 2. The Note 2 will never do Galaxy S III numbers, and not to mention you can get it on any carrier in the US now, which means there is no competition to get people to come to Verizon from another carrier for this phone. You'll never see a commercial for the Note 2 on Verizon.

It really is a kick to the **** for current, loyal customers. But somebody has to pay Lucas Films for the Droid name. Verizon fail!

Or is Verizon paying Disney now? ;) That's right people! We have to pay the Mouse to get our phones!

You: I wanted to buy the Note II and was wondering when I can do that in-store? I have no wish to order online.

Megan R.: Hello! Thank you for visiting our online sales chat service. I am happy to assist you with your order today. Were you looking to start new service, upgrade your device or purchase some accessories?

Megan R.: Hello!

Megan R.: I'd be happy to assist you.

You: Thanks

Megan R.: May I ask why you don't want to order online and be one of the firsts to get it on the release date of 11/27. As we don't know when that phone will be launched in stores?

You: I just prefer to get the phone in-store that is all.

You: the mailing service to my work place is sort of bad

You: it is a big building

You: It would be more convenient for me, since there are so many VZW stores near me, to just go to the store and get one after work

You: or on my lunch break

Megan R.: Oh, and you don't have anywhere safe at home they could leave it either?

You: The require a signature, and my building is also quite big over 30 floors

You: I don't get home till after 5, mailing service usually comes at 4

You: so i would have to be picking it up at the nearest fedex location or whatever, and that is quite far (15 miles or so)

You: It is overall just more convenient for me to pick it up in-store and was wondering when I can do that

Megan R.: Oh. They also leave them if there is a mailbox or secure place if you have a note. But yes..we don't know when exactly stores will be able to order- They have to wait for all the pre-orders to be shipped then they order them.. most corporate stores may have them on the release date 11/27

You: I would do that, but since oru building is so big they just leave it in this room that doesn't have a camera, so don't feel quite secure with it there

You: That is good to know... as i also heard the note ii is being released on VZW so much later than everyone else due to stock issues, or lack of stock i should say. i was just wondering how come the biggest carrier in the USA gets the phone last aftere everyone else

You: like, is there a chance we could get the phone early if i preorder?

You: or is 11/27 a firm date

Megan R.: 11/27 is a firm date...thats the release date

You: so is it due to stock issues?

Megan R.: No..just the contract verizon had with Samsung on the device thats when they agreed to have it released

You: oh, ok. and do you know if there is ever a chance if the 32gb or 64gb variant will be released?

Megan R.: No that is the only one.

You: thanks megan

This does not surprise me in the least. Like I was told earlier, the phone will not exit their pre-order system until the scheduled date (25th). (They can't submit a ticket on the device until it exits the pre-order system).

---UPDATE---
If anyone has been following the Verizon forums, someone just posted a screenshot of another chat with a verizon rep. The rep blatantly said "Correct" as a reply to "So the rumors are true, I will get mine before the 27?"

This seems to be the most accurate response I have gotten from VZW so far. I have posted up 3 chats so far, all with different answers.

I don't like the fact that they cannot have a structured company with consistent responses. Go look at the VZW boards, their answers are just as random.

Some guy said he looked up his preorder and it said the 16th, but it went back to "not available at this time." Which he speculated is because they didn't know the release date of the DNA and the Note II was originally going to be released on that date. That seems plausible too.

Another scary thing (seems to be most likely inaccurate) is they said the pre-orders will be fulfilled before corporate gets the devices. With the low stock issues other carriers are getting, i'm starting to be quite glad I did indeed pre-order.

Oh yeah, just fwiw, half of the things regarding my building and work were BS + i've already pre-ordered

That sounds like a reasonable assumption for the date getting pushed back. When you have a company as big as Verizon, the left hand doesn't always know what the right hand is doing.

lol I really wish I was making up stuff up the convoluted mess that my work is. I live/work at a University and Verizon does not understand that we have our own zipcode...

Oh, you have to deal with all the campus codes and stuff, eh?

But while that is true, these people usually use their computers or meetings to get their info. it shouldn't be that hard if they put the same data on their computer network.

Yeah. Normally I just get stuff shipped to our mail center, but Verizon does not have our zip in their database. Therefore, I am trying to get them to ship it to my [boss's] office. I have to add an attention line to do that and since it is still in the pre-order system, Verizon can't do that.

Verizon has been eerily quite about the Note 2. All the reasons for this aside, the result is a suppressed launch. From the outside looking in, it looks like the people that make all the decisions are not passing that information down the chain. Almost like the availability is "need to know". Either that, or Verizon is even more incompetent than we thought.

They really need to have both the Note 2 and DNA on shelves over Thanksgiving weekend to get good sales. There is only so long you can ride the pre-order wave and keep consumer interest, and one month is definitely over that time IMO.
