I've tried a online radio, winamp, and another really popular app and they start buffering then stop then start then stop.

Could it be possible that it is disabled in the phone? I'm going to try different streaming stuff. Pandora works but crashes sometimes.

Scanner radio works. Huh. Could it be a port problem on the phone? Could shoutcast streaming be on a different port than other streaming media? I presume it could but I am interested in other people's thoughts. I should try wifi too. 4g is being stubborn now and doesn't want to connect when it should.

Streamfurious isn't working either. Can someone try this to confirm if it isn't working or not.

I just confirmed it at home. Streaming radio is only working on wifi. Can others see if this is the case with your phone? I might go by sprint tomorrow and see if works on the display model. I'm pissed! Yeah I can understand why that might be done but it still makes me mad.

I've used both pandora and tunein many times in the car, never had a problem yet.
Well, besides pandora skipping every-damn-time a good song comes on. But that's happened on every phone i've ever used pandora on.

I've tried the same and many different feeds and they aren't working. Streamfurious isn't working. I can connect to wifi and it streams fine. Then I quickly turn off wifi and go to 3g and after the buffer empties out, it tries to reconnect but there's no success. I thing with 3g a channel played once for a few seconds and then stopped. After that, no other channels worked. The few seconds it was working, it sounded horribly distorted and garbled before it crapped out. I have my epic sitting on the table here next to me. I could activate it and see if it happens on that phone. I have a feeling that it will work fine on the epic...

Big sigh

There's a thread somewhere on the forum talking about sprint and an issue with their proxy. If you zero out the proxy settings in your ##3282# menu, it fixes this problem. I did this on my new evo and it fixed the problem.

I noticed in the comments of a online radio that some evo people couldn't play mp3 streaming but aac would work. Sure as ...., aac stations are working. Interesting how some people are affected and some aren't. I'm going to try the proxy trick.

Here's the link to what I found that worked.

http://forum.sdx-developers.com/android-2-1/%28solved%29-android-2-1-streaming-apps/

As for streaming applications like Pandora and TuneWiki you'll have to disable Multimedia gateway (new feature in 2.1 rom) .It works fine after that:

phone > Dialer > ##3282# > Edit mode > Advanced > Enter "MSL" > You will see RTST Proxy, HTTPPD Proxy > modify every list > set Address with "0.0.0.0", port with '0'.

After a reboot it works! I'm so happy now! I changed something in the quote so it would point to the right menu.

rtsp proxy port 0
rtsp proxy address 0.0.0.0
http pd proxy port 0
http pd proxy address 0.0.0.0

All the way at the bottom is where they are.

Glad you found what I was referring too; I was going to find the link again but I posted from my phone and then forgot. That is what fixed the issue for me on my EVO.

EDIT: You can call Sprint to get your MSL number. I did and just told them I needed to fix an issue and they gave it to me without any issues. Very good customer service from what I've seen so far.

Great find! I was having the same issue and I remembered I had to do the same thing with my Moment last year after reading this post haha
