Seriously im getting so sick of these "you just have to wait" I DO NOT JUST HAVE TO WAIT. Saying "you just have to wait" is not helping anyone, why aren't any of you actually trying to crack this?!
We buy the phone, its ours to destroy. Its open source so it shouldnt. I mean ffs is this a developers forum or customer goddamn support
I unlocked the bootloader for update with fastboot flashing unlock_critical. TWRP would not go from there obviously, but its a start. Where are all the real developers at lets crack this nut. This is BULLSHIT that xiaomi is forcing this lock ON AN UNLOCKED PHONE. Don't comment if you are as useless as 80% of the posters on this topic, im trying to make this a REAL developer thread with goals of actually accomplishing something, just like the olden days...

Bro it's only matter of 3 days only. Send request wait 3 days and unlock
Easy!
And every OEM has their own policies related to bootloader unlock
Some require unique code (motorola and others)
Some allow unlock straight forward (nexus old days)
Some don't even allow the unlock (**** you honor)

And secondly there are always are second way to unlock
Like back in days honor have second way in which we our self generate codes for unlock.
Even if you do little more search implicitly xiaomi also sends code and push a fast boot oem unlock <with unique code> in mi flash tools

I remember when i bought redmi note 3, some developers figured out to unlock bootloader unofficially by flashing emmc but main fuss is you always have to make sure you don't accidentally relock-bootloader while flashing new firmware, so i unlock it with official way.

See with our poco they gave us 3 days time to get request, so I don't think it's an major issue
Else we have to figure out how and with what algo they generate codes.
I will find and post link for alternative version mi unlock which provides code for our device(it also fetch from xiaomi servers and only difference with official tool is, it won't unlock automatically) for your case study

I think people will spend their effort only on things that are real trouble.
And unlocking in 3 days is NOT an issue, just annoyance.
And it'll take more than 3 days to find the unofficial unlocking way.
