Just to let you know that I've purchased a OnePlus 8 to replace my OP5, which is still going strong.

Having compared the two, there's not actually that much difference in real world experiences apart from the cameras - which are a class apart.

Was it worth it? Probably not. But I needed something to occupy me in these times.

I was thinking of doing it but will go for pixel 5 or 8t pro after completing full cycle of updates till Android 10 on op5
Seriously with this new overpriced prices OnePlus 8 branch is not good. Not really big difference with 7T Pro, more expensive, more big, same design and always a photo quality under others brand like Samsung, Apple, Google, Huawei.

I prefer now look arround Realme x50 Pro
https://www.realme.com/eu/realme-x50-pro

Price must be arround 600/679 $ for 8Go/128 Go Internal !

I ordered my OnePlus 8 Pro few days ago, still waiting for it sadly ? I know it's overpriced and I should buy 7T pro and still be enjoying it, and it'll serve me well as was my 5T for almost past 2 years, but I decided that I have to go for the best this time, and I like OOS too much to settle on it using Samsung or Huawei device, so I've chosen 8 pro, and I'm so excited to see this screen for the first time. Price is high because it's a real flagship deal this time, like the other manufacturers. I know company have to make money, they already lost so much because of this stupid covid quarantine thing, they have to wait with release for month, and it's also in the price of the end product, and I'm fine with it, cause I'm buying, imo the best phone in the market rn.

Overpriced: true

iPhone SE : flagship processor, flagship display, flagship camera. $400
OnePlus 8: flagship processor, no flagship display, no flagship camera. 699 (300$ just for design is no justification) (flagship is respective company's flagship devices)
iPhone SE don't have flagship processor because they didn't include the A1 chip, and it's a little slower compared to iPhone 11. It's same chip, right, but they made few cuts here and there.
It also don't have flagship display, and flagship camera. Display is same as iPhone 8, and the camera have only one lense, and Apple's flagships have three lenses, so no flagship specs.

It's cheaper because they want more users for their cloud and services.

OnePlus 8 is like lite version of real flagship, and iPhone SE is just a middle range phone for people who don't need flagship-like device, it's targeted to other types of people.

I agree to you, OOS is great and Pixel also. You can be happy, only the price is the bad point for 8 Pro, it's a good device. And for the iPhone Se, above all, it's only a 4.7" lol

Very hard to me to justify upgrading my OP5 right now. I usually upgrade phones after 18-24 months out of necessity, but I'm on month 26 with this now with no upgrade plans.
Screen size, performance, Android version etc are all still perfect for me, never lacking.
Camera might be the only reason, but it's good enough for me now.
