Ok I just want to be safe and I have a quick basic question....

Just got the Note 2 Unlocked via the Casual method in OP (Thanks AdamOutler and Jrloper)

And I am now in TWRP, I have not yet placed a ROM on the phone other than the stock one that came on it. Can I reboot the phone without any worries or do I need to put a rom on it and flash it prior to rebooting?

I plan to run CM11 if it matters (I have been running CM11 on my Galaxy nexus and wanted to run the same on the note 2 since I am familiar with it)

Casual only gives you root. You should be able to boot into whatever system you already had as long as you didn't delete anything in TWRP.

Hi everyone, hoping to get a little help with Casual.

I've successfully reflashed back to stock VRAMC3, and loaded up the casual java app, and it keeps failing over and over again, not really sure why. I've tried two different win7 machines, with different usb cables and ports and it always fails every time.

Is "ALL" of your antivirus software disabled.....did a quick look thru of your log and it does look to me that the "exploit" can't be found when it time to push it and it is causing the critical error. That means antivirus is zapping the exploit...as best I remember...lol. It has been a while since I have done a Note 2...

The antivirus software definitely interfered with CASUAL my first attempt to root with it. I remember that I had disabled my primary antivirus program, but Widows Defender was still running in background and it interfered with CASUAL. I was able go into Windows Task Manger and kill Widows Defender, then run CASUAL again successfully.

You might also try using Windows "System Restore" to revert to an earlier point before you had ran CASUAL for the first time... then try to run it again. Could also try uninstalling/reinstalling drivers again on the PC. The version of Casual that I successfully used on my Windows 7 laptop was R515b, which is linked on the OP of this thread.

I think that did it!!! It must have been silently killing the exploit because I didn't get a popup or warning or anything. Weird. But yep, it took me a couple of tries to FULLY disable everything (not that easy to do) but then it worked wonderfully and now I'm back in Philz and flashing custom stuff.

Getting a critical error at the SU portion of the install. Worked fine earlier in the day, but had to re-Odin 4.1.2.. Now, im getting this. Different laptop, could be why. I think its virus scan, but company laptop so i cant disable anything.

I'm using a different laptop, because after using this tool, odin will no longer see my phone in download mode. Need to remedy right away, this will fix the above problem... This is my priority - how do i get the other laptop to see my phone in download again? I tried reinstalling drivers, but no go.

Howdy! I'm wondering if there any updates for the ROM available, and if so, how do I get them?
I've been having some serious issues with the bluetooth radio for the last month, and now the GPS is acting up, so it's either update, or Factory reset.

See this post (Found in the first post, first page of this thread) you may have to do something special. Hey thanks, yeah, I already overwrote the USB drivers by installing them with the zadig.exe program while the phone was in download mode. What I think I will try tonight is completely removing all the phone drivers and start again, having windows download them automatically again. I'll report back...

If you haven't tried running Casual while connected to a different USB port, then you could try that. Maybe try a different usb cable as well if you have another one.
