And notice how the majority of those issues were user errors or minor issues that have been already resolved? Android Auto is a new issue and that's because of Android 12. Its different and I just have to figure out what edit causes it and fix it. No one is making anyone install this. There are 5 different problems reported in the last 6 pages, some were user error, some were incompatibility which has been fixed. The only issue still present is the Android Auto one. So please do us all a favor and if you have nothing positive to add then leave this thread. No one is making anyone install this. It is free, you are not paying for it. Don't feel entitled to tell others what they should and shouldn't do with their devices. As long as I'm active I will fix any issues my mod causes and when the time comes someone will eventually come up with something to render this mod obsolete. Until then please go troll elsewhere.
Yeah, had to hit the ignore button on that person. Apparently saying Substratum Lite is working on 3 of my phones, 2 of which are on Android 12, isn't good enough. Apparently it doesn't work and I'm just imagining everything, lol.

Oh I feel you. I've been using Substratum Lite for years with 0 issues and I know I'm not the only one.

Was searching for mods and found this... And substratum was originally built for Samsung devices and it hijacks Samsung's theme engine. Substratum lite isn't from the same people anymore as Substratum. Both work differently now and idk when either was last updated. Meaning their overlay maybe outdated and the reason for all the problems. Not really designed for Vanilla Android. Just saying. And I remember an issue between the overlay and magisk when I last owned a Samsung years ago. Just saying. Running double and triple apks to get an app to change a color is insane. Launcher for example, you have launcher apk going and the overlay apk you installed. Battery eater for sure. Research what Substratum is before installing. Because it's on play store doesn't mean it works on all devices.
If you don't like substratum because it's antiquated and the battery eater, why come into a thread and complain about it? Cuz this year looks like a complaint, it does not seem relevant to the thread OP. Given any mod, whether based on other people's work or piggy banking off of other people's work that's antiquated. If the mod was created and posted, it means it works. As long as the method of applying it is followed. There's no sense in posting a mod that's flawed unless you say this mod has flaws use at your own risk. But you know as is any mod on XDA. You should use any of these mods at your own risk whether there's issues or not. I don't think XDA was created as a place for bashing people's hard work and modding Android. If I remember correctly, it was a place created to work together and help others. I could be wrong. I don't own this place. I don't own this mod, but I do know that I've tested this mod on various devices that I own and as long as you follow the instructions provided in the OP you should be fine. Will it play well with other mods that's to be determined but that is the purpose of XDA You test you. Try you learn you figure out and share your info now. If you don't want to share up to you, no problem. No foul All right. I'm done. It's just frustrating seeing what other people complain about dumb stuff

A place created to help each other. Yes. And if the Substratum was never ever built for our phones, shouldn't that be helping? Also why push that it has to substratum? There are mods out there like that stopped using substratum. Substratum is probably the worst thing to put on your phone. I know, I shouldn't say that to help people xda because it's not positive right? Only help when you like what is said. Fact, everything I have said has not been denied by the dev has it? Why does he want you to use his mod on with a known buggy app off the play store? Why not his own? Why not post it on google play of it was just a simple mod? Why just on here? And using other people's apps? Lol. Nothing is free. Get a clue. You install apps that go over apps you use. Ever wonder how key strokes are stolen or your personal information gets stolen. Substratum turned into a major issue on Samsung phones. Most on this don't know because they never owned one. Seems like great help spreading the history of failed substratum.

Okay so now you're saying that substratum is stealing information from your keystrokes? Is that what you're trying to say without trying to actually say it in words? Stop speaking? The puzzles just say things out right?. And the reason why I'm talking about Substratum is because that's what you kept on talking about in your previous post. My question is simple. Do you like the OP's mod? Yes or no? If no, there are many other mods you can go and try. If yes, okay, contribute to improving the situation by explaining whatever your issue may be so it can be fixed. But coming into a thread nagging about this, that and the third.... doesn't show any form of contribution to XDA.

In all seriousness, exactly what are you trying to say about this mod here or Substratum for that matter...stop beating around the bush. And if you have something substantial regarding this mod specifically provide evidence because this thread is about this mod, provide evidence as well.

So you understand you are putting into your phone an overlay system you have absolutely no control over right? I am not taking this mod. Substratum lite. You are cool with that? No way of accessing anything it does? Wow. Here is the original substratum. May 2019 last update. Substratum lite isn't the same. Has been in early access 3 years. Should tell you something. This mod may work. Substratum is janky and WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS. Period. It isn't up for debate it was never built for our phones. It isn't something that should be used on anything running vanilla Android. Samsung, Sony, and I believe LG have the theming engine already. We have monet. Substratum isn't built to be compatable with Android 12. If you have proof show me. Here is the actual GitHub for the original substratum. Anyone know why open source is good? Lol. Please if you have facts that go against anything I said, please you show facts. Google stopped overlays because of reasons I mentioned. Go look it up. It is fact.

Oh hai!, especially miggsr, it's been a while my friend.

This debate is very interesting, but I think it's run its course. Substratum can cause problems on a phone. Duh. Everything on this site can cause problems on your phone. That's the whole point of XDA! To learn, to push devices to their limits.

Android would be nowhere near as awesome had they not kanged all the good ideas from the developers at XDA. You couldn't even restart a phone on stock Android back in the day, only shutdown. XDA people added it to their custom ROMs and magically it was added by Google.

As for trust, and overlays, and keylogging, and such, again, that can happen on almost anything here. I've flashed plenty of custom ROMs in my day, but only did so from trusted sources. Because I'm basically trusting that developer to do the right thing and trusting the community will point out when they aren't.

Pixel Tweaks might have trouble on the Pixel 6. Not surprising, the device is brand new as is Android 12. The developer is fixing what needs fixing and helping people figure out what's wrong with their device when Pixel Tweaks isn't the problem. Great! Just what we hope XDA is used for.

So, let's move on from the debate about Substratum Lite and continue focusing on Pixel Tweaks. If you want to discuss the merits of Substratum for this device, please create your own thread somewhere else.

I'm subscribing to this thread so please let's be on our best behavior. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to send me a PM.

After using your app i finally was able to remove the searchbar and have some more apps on the home screen. But now for some reason Android Auto is not working anymore. Can it be that this has something to do with the flasing of Pixel.Tweaks.Helper.Searchbar.Removal.zip and the overlay? Is there a way that i can revert my changes so i can see if it is this what is causing the troubles?

I'm having the same issue with android auto. The two I used are the change accent colors and change status bar colors. AA doesn't show the bar at the bottom, then stops working after reinstall. I disabled both and rebooted, but the issue remained. I had to toggle the tweaks module off and reboot to get it to work again.

Sucks too, the new color choices are almost what you pick, and I love it! Cheers to the awesome work!
What version of Android Auto are you guys using? I know it has been rewritten differently on Android 12 and I don't have an app icon to launch it (I never use it). It shows as installed from play store just not sure how to access it now. Maps has something similar to how I remember Android Auto and that works for me but I don't think you guys are talking about that.

version 7.0.614134-release

It's the latest. They changed it from an app to more of a service. It can't be launched via app anymore, it's either automatic when connected to a car, it by Google assistant.

The mod posted is for November ota for pixel 6/6 pro. The ones on post #4 is for November ota for older pixels. An update is required for the December OTA, I will release it within the next day or two. Also could you please let me know which device you are on and on which security patch you are on?

Boot into safe mode. Do this rebooting as soon as you see the G logo press and hold the volume down button until phone boots into os. Once in safe mode do a regular reboot. You will boot up with all Magisk modules disabled.

    Removed Monet Switch

If anyone can provide me with framework-res.apk, SystemUIGoogle.apk, and NexusLauncherRelease.apk from Pixel 4 or Pixel 5 families I would greatly appreciate it.

Quick update. My GPU took a dump so PC is out of commission until replacement gets here. Thank goodness for warranty. It should be here by Monday or Tuesday and I'll push the update as soon as I get it up and running.

Another update, before my PC took a hit. I figured out the issue with Android Auto. I will have to drop the "better Monet" theming to fix it. We now have a few options to apply an accent color of our choice so I'm not certain if I want to still implement that aspect of the mod since it breaks Android Auto. I will look to see if there is a way to get it all working but won't break my head over it since, like mentioned before, we have other options available to address the accent color.

Can this mod be combined with the following?
