payload_propertiesIf you're coming from November, then yes, should be 215 MB. Smaller if you're coming from December. data/ota doesn't have anything additional?
What are the filenames of what's in either? Also - may be compressed to less than 215 MB??? Just an idea, but not sure if would be, or if 215 MB would be the compressed size already.
Hmmmmm indeed. Well, I would expect if you shut off your WiFi and Mobile Data and at least delete those four files (I confirm there's nothing in there on mine), then you would *probably* be okay since I'm sure those files are needed to even start the process, I would hope.payload_properties
I'm coming from november so it should be 215mb which was confirmed in the update window. payload_properties lists file size as 215. I don't think theyre compressed because all the files are only about 1mb in total.
What launcher are you using? I was on a thread the other day with someone complaining about the same problems who insisted switching to Nova launcher fix those issues. Might be worth a try.
it is a consolidated buildThe fact that both T-Mobile and Verizon unrooted users are getting the OTA to the same SQ1D.220105.007 release, whereas they weren't getting the same release for December (T-Mobile was getting Global, and Verizon was getting the U.S. Carriers) gives further evidence that this may be a consolidated build, thankfully. Hopefully, it's true.
You've probably figured this out already, but if you were already on the December build it should be around 41mb, but if you were on the November build it will be around 215mb.
Ahh, then this answers the part that I was unsure of, haha. Thanks! So once that happens (if it hasn't already), then the global images should definitely work for all who bought their phones from Google's site. Perhaps Verizon will still have a different image though as they always have in the past, for whatever reason (presumably due to the 2G and 3G bands they use).
Also, yes, I'm using 4G and 5G. I'm traveling to an area where I should get 5G UC, and so I should be able to test my 5G speeds within the next few hours =)
I know, and I saw, I'm just saying you didn't have to uninstall magisk for this. Just say thank you lolYes, as mentioned in my previous post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/january-update-has-dropped.4388425/post-86259799) ... it was the cable ... back up and running on January build & rooted (without wiping).
In the future, just click on the How To Guide filter at the top of every page of threads and it will show the relatively few How To ones
That was the January update, merged with December. If you already had the December build before it was pulled, you received both Dec and Jan updates which was consolidated. That's why it was only 45mb.
Source for that information? They either always or mostly consolidate their builds into one eventually, so unless there's official confirmation, it could be this might be the only image. Doesn't say Global. We'll find out eventually!
